Aimee - Lion Breed. First mentioned in: Megan's Mark. Mated fellow Lion Breed, Mark (deceased). Mother of unborn Breed fetus (deceased). She was 23 years old at time of her death (Megan's Mark). Created in the same French lab as Jonas Wyatt, she was horribly abused and raped daily by Council soldiers. She was a hunter and tracker, but did not grow in strength and effectiveness as the scientists planned. She was considered a potential mate by Jonas Wyatt. Served as a bodyguard to Senator Macken “Mac” Cooley. Murdered by Council controlled Coyote Breeds in Southern New Mexico at Senator Cooley's direction. She was pregnant when murdered. She and Mark both died after their Range Rover crashed, as a result of dozens of bullets from Council soldiers tearing through them and the car. Their faces and bodies were so badly disfigured as a result of their attack that they were unrecognizable; only DNA confirmed their identities. Shee hadn't been out of captivity (out of the Council labs) long by the time of her death. DECEASED.

Pretended to be Mercury Warrant's mate, but is really the mate of a Genetics Council head assassin. She is cold and calculating, greedy and vicious, but often uses a childish, soft voice to trick others into believing she is sweet and innocent. She was sent to kill Haley McQuire by the Council, and instead killed Jason Lincoln and Patricia. She and Mark English were both killed by Noble Chavin, who was protecting his mate, Haley, at the time (in the Magical Christmas Cat anthology - Christmas Heat). DECEASED.

Claimed before her birth by Jonas Wyatt as his own child (adopted). Niece of Diane Broen-Justice. Amber was small and underweight at birth, unknowingly born with a rare illness that would’ve soon caused her death. She is three months old when she is kidnapped by Phillip Brandenmore and injected with an unknown serum containing Breed hormones. Ever since, she has been experiencing changes on a cellular level, slowly being turned into a Breed. Unfortunately, these changes make her an outcast to other the Breed children. She begins walking at barely 8 months old and seems to understand far more than she should at her age. She has developed a soft, kittenish purr, is sweet of nature, but feisty. Her life is saved when Gideon Cross/Graeme Parker secretly continues the injections started by Phillip Brandenmore. Her red-gold curly hair is developing soft black and reddish streaks and she has green eyes (same color as many cats).
Amelia Trace - Human. First appearance: Primal Kiss. Geneticist. She is known for her advanced research in genetic anomalies. She is said to be the perfect scientist, seemingly almost void of emotion. She was brought in to study Phillip Brandenmore and help save Amber Diane Broen-Wyatt's life.
Andrew Breyer - Human. First appearance: Dawn's Awakening. Is married to an unknown human female, with two human children. Board member of Lawrence Industries. One of the few board members that supported Seth Lawrence. He is 52 years old at the start of Dawn's Awakening, and is described as 'healthy and robust'. He was murdered by Jason Phelps, who mistakenly though Andrew was Seth Lawrence in the dark. DECEASED.
Andrew Robertson - Human. First appearance: Aiden's Charity. Council scientist. Second in command to Delia Bainesmith before her death. Responsible for the experimentation on Charity Dunmore.
Angel - Coyote Breed. First appearance: Lion's Heat. Ghost Team member. Was trained by the scientists in the lab to lie, trick and deceive anyone, including other Breeds.
Angel (a.k.a. Cassie's 'fairy' ghost) - Coyote Breed. Mate of Carson Ryder (deceased). Mother of Cainis Ryder (a.k.a. Cain, Dog). Sister-in-law of an unnamed human female, the daughter of Aaron C. Ryder (deceased). Aunt of an unnamed human female. Mother-in-law of Cassandra Colder-Sinclair (a.k.a. Cassie, the Breed Princess, Halfling). In the labs, she was unnamed by the scientists, but when Carson Ryder met her, he named her 'Angel'. The two fell in love and mated, and Carson helped Angel escape the lab where she was imprisoned. The two went on the run, hiding from the Genetics Council and from Carson's father, who was a prominent member of the Genetics Council. At some point, she became pregnant. She was killed by an unknown assailant(s) a few hours after giving birth to her son. Her ghost has haunted Cassie since she was five-years old, sharing secrets with her about others to guide her, because she knew Cassie was Cainis' intended mate even then. Description: Long, blonde hair, attractive. DECEASED.
Animera MacKenzie - Wolf Breed. First mentioned in: Styx's Storm. Mate of Dr. Dougal Mackenzie. One of the older Breed females, she was in her 40’s when she was rescued from the French labs.

Anya Korbin-Delgato - Human. First appearance: Aiden's Charity. Coya of the Coyote Breeds in Haven and the Citadel. Mate of Del-Rey Delgato (Coyote's Mate). Daughter of Dr. Petrov Kobrin. Cousin of Ivan and Donan. Mother of an unnamed brown-eyed, blond-haired Hybrid Coyote son with Del-Rey. Her father and cousins worked in the Chernov Coyote Labs in Russia. Worked security and administration in the labs since age 16, recruited by the Genetics Council. She turns spy for Del-Rey Delgato around the same time, determined to rescue the Coyote Breeds in the Russian facilities. For six years, she worked tirelessly to rescue the Coyotes in the Chernov labs with Del-Rey. The night of the rescue, Del-Rey shoots her father and the other scientists to make it look to the Council that they weren't in on the escape attempt. He does not tell this to Anya, however, so she believes he betrayed her and vows to hate him for it. That same night, Del-Rey forces his kiss on her, beginning mating heat. He mates her, taking her virginity roughly, as the mating heat burns through them both. The next day, he is gone, feeling guilty for having tricked her about her father & the mating heat. She goes to the Breed Ruling Council and petitions to have her mate status revoked and the mating nullified, feeling betrayed by the man she'd fallen in love with over the years. Del-Rey leaves the Citadel for eight months, taking missions and rarely returning, giving her time to settle in. However, during that time, the Coyote males mistreat her, thinking she'd done something to keep Del-Rey from wanting to come back. Eventually, the situation resolves itself, and she and Del-Rey marry and stay mated. She learns quickly, is a skilled leader, is a genius in administration and personnel, and extremely protective of those she loves. She is closer than sisters with the five Coyote Breed females from the Russian labs, and they defer to her leadership. Despite the fact it tormented her to be touched by anyone other than her mate, she allowed the Breeds to test on her during the mating heat to help develop hormone treatments to help females who have been mated not to suffer so much physical and emotional pain from the process.
Arthur Holden - Human. First appearance: Wake A Sleeping Tiger. Husband of Marsha Holden. Father of Lauren Holden-Maverick (deceased). Former father-in-law of Judd Cross (alias Cullen Maverick). Related to all of the Martinez family by marriage. Practicing attorney, living in California on an estate. Had moved to Window Rock, Arizona when his daughter Lauren was still living with them, because they'd gone bankrupt and moved in with his father-in-law (Marsha's father). Description: tall, reed thin, long facial features, and after his daughter death, he became somber. Malachi Morgan and Chelsea Martinez-Maverick both shared the same feeling that they would never turn their back on Arthur Holden, as he was untrustworthy. Malachi said he smelled Arthur's hatred for Cullen in the air. Chelsea found Arthur to be arrogant, as well. Terran Martinez concurred, even going so far as to suggest that Arthur had pushed Lauren on Cullen, because he'd hoped Mating Heat could cure his daughter of her cancer. It comes out that Arthur had hired a Coyote Breed to kill Chelsea, Cullen's mate, when he'd realized that Cullen was moving on and giving that cancer-curing Mating Heat to the girl instead. He believed Cullen had purposefully withheld Mating Heat from his daughter, Lauren, to give it to Chelsea someday. Resentful of the fact that Chelsea had received not just the life-saving Mating Heat hormones, but also Cullen's love - another thing Arthur felt Cullen withheld from his daughter - he tries to kill Chelsea to hurt Cullen. When the Coyote Breed's assassination attempt ended in failure, Arthur then hired some of the Cerveses cartel members to kill her. When that failed as well, he had Theodore Ranger kill the sole remaining assassin before he could talk to authorities and reveal the identity of the man who had hired him. He also had Ranger kill the custodian who had arranged for Ranger to get into Morales' cell and to switch off the cameras for that brief period of time. Arthur blamed Chelsea for stealing Lauren's psychic ability to read projected thoughts in others as well. He blamed her and Cullen for Lauren's death. He and Ranger kidnapped Chelsea with the intention of turning her over to the Council to experiment upon in the ultimate revenge, but they were thwarted by Dog (working undercover as a Coyote Council soldier) and one of his team, Cullen, Graeme, Cat, and a team of the Cerveses cartel soldiers. He had his throat slashed by Cullen in a one-on-one fight to the death and was dead before he hit the dirt in the canyon (right outside of Window Rock, Arizona city proper). DECEASED.
Ashley Truing (originally named Ashley True in Christmas Kiss, but the author changed her name in Coyote's Mate) (a.k.a. Ash) - Coyote Breed. First mentioned: Christmas Kiss. First appearance: Coyote's Mate. Twin younger sister of Emma Truing. One of only five known surviving Coyote Breed females in existence. Was raised in the Chernov labs in Russia alongside her twin, Sharone Bryce, and the human Anya Korbin-Delgado. Is convinced she will die young and that it won’t matter. Acts girly, flirty and ditzy, but is absolutely deadly (she's a genius who loves to play the dumb blonde). Cunning and manipulative but charming and highly intuitive. She fights to keep the feral side of herself hidden, as she is one of the sharpest, most lethal Coyote Breeds ever created. She is best friends with Anya Korbin-Delgato, and close friends with Liza Johnson/Honor Roberts, Chelsea Martinez, Claire Martinez/Catarina "Cat" Greymore, Shiloh Gage, and Chimera Broussard. Found secret blood relatives in the Navajo nation. Was shot and nearly killed by Holden Mayhew during the kidnapping of Isabelle Martinez-Morgan. It takes her a couple of years to fully recover. In Wake A Sleeping Tiger, Graeme Parker states that Ashley has been targeted by either a stalker or the Genetics Council, and as a result, he was given permission in secret by her alpha, Del-Rey Delgado, to inject her bi-weekly with a tracking device that Graeme and Del-Rey can monitor to assure her safety while she's out and about (Del-Rey refused to allow Graeme to make it a permanent tracking device, hence the need for regular shots with new nano devices in them). Ashley believes the shot is medication to keep her from developing allergies, however. Description: Grey eyes, blonde hair, gets her fingernails done professionally and on a regular basis. Still has a Russian accent, even years after leaving her mother country and immigrating to the United States. Flirty, fun-loving, but deadly as a razor when crossed.
Audi Johnson - Human. First appearance: Stygian's Honor. Husband of Jane Johnson. Father of Liza Johnson (deceased). Was 56 years old at the beginning of Stygian's Honor. Is a former Army Intelligence agent and black-ops soldier and prisoner of war. Best friends with fellow prisoner of war, Raymond "Ray" Martinez. He is the head of security for President Raymond Martinez during his two terms in office for the Navajo Nation. He allowed Honor Christine Roberts to assume the life and memories of his dead daughter, Liza Johnson (he was determined not to lose his daughter again). Is very loving, but misogynistic and overly protective.
Austin Crowl - Lion Breed. First appearance: Mercury's War. Computer expert for Sanctuary. Worked in the security control center of Sanctuary as a computer and security technician. He is a Breed that was programmed for advanced intelligence rather than strength. He was arrogant and self important and a little malicious and self-important. He was murdered by a traitor within Sanctuary who was attempting to pass information about Breed physiology from the inside in secret. DECEASED.
Barrett "Bar" O’Sullivan - Human. First appearance: Enthralled: The Devil's Due. Husband of Kella O’Sullivan, father of Katie O’Sullivan, son of Walter O’Sullivan, one of the most notorious lab overseers in Europe. Best friends with Jorn Langer, who was presumed dead in the rescue of Katie O’Sullivan from the labs. Barrett hid who and what Katie O’Sullivan was from the world, claiming Katie O’Sullivan was the orphaned child of a deceased family member. He is the assistant Chief Constable of Northern Ireland. He has been publicly berated for his support of Breed rights in Europe.
Beldon Jeffrey Amburg (a.k.a. Bloody Amburg) – Human. Doctor. Responsible for the torture and death of countless Breeds. Being held prisoner at Sanctuary. Working with Dr. Elyiana Morrey on the issue of Breed Mating Heat.
Benedikt Adolf Albrecht - Human. First appearance: In A Wolf's Embrace. Doctor. A genius in genetics who has made a fortune in pharmaceuticals. Part of the twelve member directorate of the Genetics Council and director of Breed training. His father and grandfather were both Council trainers. He ran the Breed labs situated in the German mountains, and captured and experimented on mated Breed pairs. He lost his position after the hearings on Breed atrocities, but never stopped torturing the Breeds. He is a rapist and a killer. He always travels with several bodyguards, is arrogant and sure of his position, organized and predictable. He was killed by Matthias Slaughter. DECEASED.
Ben Grasse - Human. First mentioned in: Harmony's Way. Husband of Katie Grasse, Sheriff in Pinon, New Mexico.
Benjamin Foster - Human. First appearance in: Bengal's Quest. Doctor. Married to an unnamed female Wolf Breed. Former Brandenmore Research scientist, head of Genetic and Biological Research. Created Gideon Cross and Judd, and often worked with Gideon Cross, became almost a father figure to the man. Disappeared over 10 years ago, presumed dead, but had been living in hiding.
Beth - Human. One of Kita Claire Engalls-Raine's friends. First mentioned: Primal Kiss. Kita described her as being 'practical' and 'easy going.' She believes Sanctuary to be a place of unrestrained hedonism (orgies everywhere). She and Stacey, another friend, make a bet about it.
Blade Travers - Wolf Breed. Enforcer.
Braden Arness (a.k.a. Puss in Boots) - Lion Breed. Mate of Megan Fields-Arness (Megan’s Mark). Top enforcer of Jonas Wyatt until he mated Megan and was reassigned to the Western Division of the Bureau of Breed Affairs. Description: Stands 6' 4". Dark Amber Eyes. Thick, long golden-brown hair that fell below his shoulders. Has a devil-may-care smile. Loves action and adventure (something of an adrenaline junkie and a warrior combined). Mating Hormone Flavor: Cinnamon, saffron, honey, and brown sugar combined.
Brazon - Coyote Breed. Pack leader.
Brick - Human. Member of Diane Broen-Justice’s team. Brick had been wounded in an attack by Gideon Cross in Washington D.C. and put out of commission as a result. Diane had incorrectly assumed he'd been the Genetics Council traitor on her team, believing he'd taken the bullet hit on purpose to cover himself, but she had been incorrect (it had been Malcolm, another member).
Brim Stone (a.k.a. Brimstone) – Coyote Breed. Second in command at Haven. Brother of Del-Rey Delgado and Jax. Works with Jonas Wyatt on occasion to pretend to be a Council-loyal Coyote to win over traitors, so he can eventually bring them to justice.
Butch - Coyote Breed. Lieutenant under Dog.
Cabal St. Laurents - Primal Bengal Breed. First appearance: Kiss of Heat. Mate of Cassa Hawkins-St. Laurents (Bengal’s Heart). Biological brother of Tanner Reynolds. Born and raised in a lab, Cabal was genetically designed to be a Primal Breed and as such, the most dominant of the Bengal Breeds in the lab, making him their protector by default. He fought helplessly to save the other members of his Bengal Breed family while the scientists conducted horrific experiments upon them over the years, including vivisection, unnecessary surgery, rape, exposure to illness and temperature, starvation, forced conception, etc. A handsome 'specimen' with acute senses, Cabal was spared of most of the experimentation himself, instead trained in psychological warfare, including seduction techniques. When the lab he was in was being invaded by government forces determined to shut it down, the scientists realized they were done for. They tossed their entire stock of Bengal Breeds into a brutal torture chamber that spun and had razor-sharp knives all around, intending to euthanize them all (but recording their reactions at the same time, to use the information as a bargaining chip in their coming trials). Of all the Bengals, only Cabal survived. As he broke through the glass container holding him hostage, he crippled a man named Douglas Watts (at the time, everyone believed Watts dead, but it later comes out that Watts had only been paralyzed by the attack and Cabal, knowing Watts had been working for the Genetics Council, had the man hidden away in a forgotten medical hospital in the Middle East to live out the rest of his miserable life). Cabal then attacked Watts' "wife", Cassa Hawkins, a journalist sympathetic to the Breeds and helping to free this particular lab with her "husband" (Cassa didn't know it at the time, but her marriage to Watts had been a sham he'd set up and faked to get close to her so he could spy on the Breeds as a result of her close reporter ties to them). During that exchange, Cabal smeared some of his blood into Cassa's mouth, accidentally kick-starting the mating heat between them. A few years after this incident, Callan Lyons comes out to the world about the Breeds and calls for all Breeds to come to him so they can form a government and life safe at last. Cabal heeds the call and appears at Callan's encampment. There, he meets Tanner Reynolds, a fellow Bengal Breed who appears to be his exact genetic opposite (their temperaments, it turns out, are also opposites, with Tanner being the charming, witty Bengal Breed and Cabal being the brooding, introspective one). At their first meeting, Cabal and Tanner both sense in the other man their close biological connection (they were two eggs taken from the same woman and fertilized by sperm from a single man, but implanted into two entirely different females from other labs to be birthed). The brothers do not admit their connection to the rest of the world, however, letting people wonder the mystery (as is the Bengal Breed way). The one thing they do seem to have in common, however, is an insatiable sexual appetite, and they don't mind sharing their women with each other. Cabal takes a place in Callan's new world as a security enforcer, sniffing out traitors who the Genetic Council has sent to infiltrate and destabilize the Breed's attempt at sovereignty. Ten years after his escape from the labs, Cabal has moved into a key position within Jonas Wyatt's department within the new Breed government. He is put in charge of stopping a legendary Breed killer known only as 'Azrael'. Unbeknownst to him, Cassa Hawkins has been contacted by Azrael personally, and she follows Cabal to the town in Virginia where Azrael is taking his revenge on former Council members, seeking the scoop of her life. Cabal and she run into each other, and it becomes clear that since that day ten years earlier in the lab, both he and Cassa have been in mating heat for each other. Being in such close proximity, working on the same case, makes it impossible for them to ignore the pull to be together. Unable to stop themselves, they mate in the middle of the investigation, which makes them both vulnerable (mating heat can be used against them should one be captured or killed by the enemy). Cassa, however, is angry and resentful of Cabal's 'catting around' with other women in the ten years since their split, as he'd known all along he was in mating heat (while she'd suffered, unable to let anyone touch her), and she is very independent and stubborn, and won't take Cabal ordering her around. During the course of the events that unfold in Bengal's Heart, Cassa learns that her "husband", Watts, is still alive and that Cabal had known -- had been keeping Watts alive on purpose to make the man suffer for his treachery. Then, Azrael strikes while the couple are fighting. He takes Cassa prisoner and then arranges for Watts to not only escape his imprisonment in the Middle East, but also to be given a drug that will allow his disconnected spinal nerves to fire back up again (allowing full movement) in exchange for the last names of the men Azrael is hunting down. Cabal goes wild at Cassa's kidnapping. His animal side, always so careful and controlled, completely loses its cool then. Stripes appear across his face and body, his canine teeth elongate, and claws erupt from under the beds of his fingernails, outing his secret that he's a Primal Bengal Breed to the world. He rushes to rescue Cassa, and in the ensuing fire-fight, Watts is paralyzed once more, Azrael's identity becomes known but he escapes, and Cassa is shot. Cabal finally confesses his love for her just as she goes unconscious. Days later, Cassa finally awakens, the surgery to save her life a success. Cabal is relieved, and agrees to take on less dangerous assignments, since he's now a mated male.
Cainis Ryder (a.k.a. Cain, Dog) - Coyote Breed, Hybrid, Primal. First Appearance: Dawn's Awakening. Mate of Cassandra "Cassie" Colder-Sinclair (Cross Breeds). Biological son of Carson Ryder and Angel (born naturally from their love union). His mother died just hours after giving birth to Cainis, having been fatally shot by Council-loyal soldiers. His father raised him, but they were always on the run and in hiding from the Genetics Council. When he was ten-years-old, his father was killed by Council soldiers in Washington state, leaving Cainis to make it in the world on his own. His father's ghost stayed by him until he found his mate years later, and then told Cassie a little about Cainis' past before moving on to be with his wife in the afterlife. At some point, he showed up on Jonas Wyatt's radar and was recruited by him to act as a double-agent/spy for the free Breeds, to help take down the Council and its supporters. Leader of Ghost Team under Jonas Wyatt's command, double-agents pretending to be Council-loyal soldiers to help the Breeds escape laps and bring down the Genetics Council and all who aid them. Believed to be the most lethal Coyote ever created. In Wake A Sleeping Tiger, Dog and one of his partners from his undercover group help Arthur Holden and Theodore Ranger kidnap Chelsea Martinez-Maverick in an attempt to appear to be working with Holden and Ranger (who are both Genetics Council supporters). That act allows them to learn the truth about Cassandra "Cassie" Colder-Sinclair's biological sister, Kenzi. Cainis (preferring to be called 'Dog') makes a deal with Cassie, his mate, to save Kenzi and bring her to safety. He does so, and then calls in the debt. Cassie appears at his hotel room in Window Rock, Arizona and proceeds to have sex with him. The sex gets out of control when it becomes apparent that they are mates, and Dog mates Cassie that night. She suspected they might be mates, but didn't know for certain, and at that time, she'd assumed Dog was a Council loyalist, and so was upset by being mated.
Caleb Sanchez - Human.
Caleb Tyler - Human.
Callan Lyons - Lion Breed. First Appearance: Tempting the Beast. Alpha of the Lion Breeds and Pride Leader of all Feline Breeds in the United States of America. Mate of Merinus Tyler (Tempting the Beast). Father of David Lyons and Erin Lyons. Biologic son of Leo and Elizabeth Vanderdale (his sperm, her egg combined and implanted in another woman's womb for birthing). Biological brother of Dane Vanderdale and Jonas Wyatt. Biological uncle of Gloria "Ria" Rodriguez-Warrant.
Cara - Human. First mentioned: Primal Kiss. Sister of Horace Engalls, sister-in-law of Mrs. Engalls (Horace's unnamed wife-deceased), aunt of Kita Clair Engalls, aunt of unnamed sister of Kita Claire Engalls. Was under arrest for unknown crimes regarding the Breeds as of the beginning of Primal Kiss.
Carl - Human. Doorman at the hotel where the Breed ball was held in Rule Breaker.

Carson Cain Ryder - Human. Mate of an unnamed Coyote female, whom he dubbed 'Angel'. Son of Senator Aaron C. Ryder and an unnamed human female. Father of Cainis Ryder (a.k.a. Cain, Dog). Brother of an unnamed human female (deceased). Uncle of an unnamed human female. Father-in-law of Cassandra Colder-Sinclair (a.k.a. Cassie, the Breed Princess, Halfling). A former Navy SEAL, he was hired by the Generics Council (prodded by his father, Aaron C. Ryder, who was a prominent member) to go into various labs to train Breeds who were to be sold as mercenary soldiers on the black market. There, he met his Coyote mate, gave her the name 'Angel' (as the lab scientists hadn't named her), and he helped her escape the labs. The two went on the run, but Angel became pregnant at some point. Only hours after she gave birth to their son, Cainis, they were discovered, and she was shot and killed. Carson took the baby and raised him on the run, assuring no one knew about Cainis. He secretly contacted his sister, who was kind enough to wire him several hundred-thousand dollars to aid in his escape, but somehow their father found out about his daughter's interference and he had her killed for it. Carson found out and went deeper underground, and his hatred for his father was cemented then. Ten years later, he and his son were hiding in a cabin in the woods somewhere in Washington state when a team of Aaron C. Ryder's hired Coyotes tracked down Carson while out on a supply run. They murdered him; his body was found in a back alley with a hole through the heart, according to the local news. For decades, his ghost followed his son around until Cainis (going by 'Dog' then) met his mate, Cassie, and the two of them permanently ended the threat Aaron C. Ryder represented. Only then could Carson feel at ease in leaving his son's side. DECEASED.
Cash Winslow - Human. Ex-CIA. Worked for Brandenmore Pharmaceuticals as a security specialist. Member of the Deadly Dozen. At Glen Ferris, West Virginia, he lured Patrick Wallace and his small pride into a trap that ended in many deaths, including Wallace's mate. Rumored to have been responsible over the years since Breed freedom from the labs for kidnappings of Breeds and selling them back to various pharmaceutical companies for experimentation. Wallace took his revenge years later by drowning Cash in a river. DECEASED.
Cassa Hawkins-St. Laurents - Human. Reporter.
Cassandra Colder-Sinclair Ryder (a.k.a. Cassie, the Breed Princess, Halfling) - Wolf/Coyote Breed, Hybrid, Primal, the only known living natural female alpha Breed. First appearance: Elizabeth's Wolf. Mate of Cainis Ryder (a.k.a. Cain, Dog) (Cross Breeds). Biological daughter of Dash Sinclair and Elizabeth Colder-Sinclair (thanks to his Genetics Council contacts, Dane Colder was able to use Dash's sperm, collected from him while he was unconscious in the hospital for his war injuries, to impregnate Dane's wife Elizabeth, because it was suspected she could bear a Breed's child. Until Dash met Elizabeth face-to-face, however, none of them knew this fact and everyone believed Cassie to be Dane's biological daughter. Dash and Elizabeth never formally explained this to Cassie, instead making her seem to be his adopted daughter to protect her, but Cassie always knew the truth about who her real father was). Sister of Mackenzie "Kenzie" Deacon. Sister of Kenton Sinclair. Psychic. Her father is not a natural Primal, so where she gained the ability is unknown. Head of the Covert Breed Management Division (a.k.a. the Breed Underground Information Network, a department under the Western Division of the Bureau of Breed Management), whose job it is to free Council-held Breeds, appointed to the role by Jonas Wyatt. Her mating to Dog was the first known mating of two Hybrids, as well as of two Primal Breeds. Description: Stands 5' 4". Long, curly black hair. Physically the twin of Mackenzie "Kenzie" Deacon, so the two share the same features and body type, however, her genetics are mixed with Coyote and Wolf Breeds, unlike her sister.
Catarina "Cat" Graymore-Parker (alias Fawn Corrigan, alias Claire Martinez) - Human, but turned Primal Bengal Tigress through the drug therapy that saved her life as a child. Mate of Graeme Parker (Bengal's Quest). Catarina was born to an unnamed mother (deceased) and an unnamed father (status known). As a newborn orphan at the hospital, she had been discovered and targeted by Philip Brandenmore of Brandemore Labs as a potential for his experimentation, due to the fact she had been born with a rare and fatal genetic anomaly (according to Jonas Wyatt in Stygian's Honor, at two months old she'd been diagnosed with infant AIDS and given only weeks to live, but then in Bengal's Quest, Gideon Cross had said she'd been born with a "a missing gene vital to hormonal and immunity development). Brandenmore had arranged with Cat's parents to take her into custody when she'd been just four days old, and he brought her to his labs, turning her over to Dr. Foster. The doctor made her the ward of his eleven-year old breed "apprentice", Gideon Cross. From the minute he'd held Catarina in his arms, Gideon (who had already been suffering from some of the effects of feral fever) had given her his heart, the Primal Bengal within him recognizing that she was his (not just as part of his pride, but his in every way that mattered). At the time, Gideon hadn't known that he'd imprinted upon Cat, however; he'd just loved her. From the start, Gideon, a brilliant child-Breed prodigy in the sciences (he'd already studied and mapped the genetic code for humans by then) had been brought in by Dr. Foster to come up with a therapy to save Cat's life. Recognizing the flaw in her genetic code, Gideon had helped develop a counter: filling in the missing gene with his own Breed genetics (which were stronger, and would guarantee Cat had the best chance of surviving long term). The treatments, which slowly changed Cat into a Breed, continued throughout all of Cat's young life, and were incredibly painful for her to endure. Gideon was with her though the entire process, though, holding her and soothing her after each treatment. He was given charge of the young Cat, told by Dr. Foster to raise her, and he did...knowing he would one day have to break her and his twin brother, Judd, out of the labs and betray his 'Masters'. When Cat was approximately two years old, a young girl named Honor Christine Roberts was brought into the labs by her father and mother, who were desperate to find a cure for their daughter's rare form of leukemia (it was killing her quickly, and she only had a short amount of time left). Fortunately, Dr. Foster and Gideon's work on gene therapies was able to help Honor, and over the next eight years that she remained in the lab, she and Cat became good friends. When Honor was ten years old, her leukemia was finally cured and she was taken home by her parents. During those long years in the lab, Cat (who referred to Gideon simply as "G") also came to love Gideon as both her alpha and her best friend. He was her hero and her trust in him was unshakable. When she was almost twelve years old, Gideon escaped the labs, taking Cat's teddy bear with him (he'd hidden memory sticks filled with Lab data on Breeds, intending on turning it over to those Breeds who had already escaped their labs around the world). Cat was adamant that Gideon had not abandoned her, believing he'd be back for her soon. Four months after his escape, the lab director, Dr. Bennett, decided she and Judd were of no longer any use to them and arranged for them to be transferred to another facility to be euthanized. Four hours after that transfer, somewhere in the Pennsylvania mountains, Cat escaped the guards who were taking her and Judd to their deaths (she tore out the guard's throats, shocking Judd with her level of unexpected violence and how calm she was after the fact). Then, Gideon arrived on the scene to save them from the remaining guards, but he had been been mortally wounded in that fight. Cat knew the only way to save him was to give him a blood transfusion. Gideon knew, however, that Cat was his intended mate and that as a fully adult male Bengal by then, if he was to take any of her blood into his body, the mating hormone would trigger and Mating Heat would begin. He tried to get Cat to stop, without telling her too much and scaring her. In the end, he attempted to get her to hate him and walk away by telling her she'd just been his 'experiment' and he didn't love her at all. Hearing that broke Cat's child heart in two, but she loved Gideon enough not to let him die if she could save him. She transfused their blood, not understanding what doing so would do to Gideon. He threatened to kill her then, and warned Judd to take her and run from him. As a result of the Mating Heat taking hold of him, Gideon's insanity (already well underway as a result of the horrors he'd endured in the labs and as a result of suffering Feral Fever) became fully realized and he ran in the opposite direction from Cat and Judd, determined not to hurt Cat as a result of the biological impulse to mate her, despite her age. Cat and Judd went deep underground, hiding from the Genetics Council and from Gideon, changing their identities and keeping on the run. At some point soon after, she and Judd met up with Honor Roberts again (who was on the run, too, as the Genetics Council wanted her back in the labs, needing the information from her physical body regarding her miracle cure, as Gideon had destroyed all of the files about her experiments, as well as the ones done on Cat, Judd, and himself), and the three of them stayed together, hiding under the radar and pretending to be other people to escape the Genetics Council, Gideon, and anyone else looking to harm them (Cat took on the alias 'Fawn Corrigan' and Judd became 'Cullen Maverick'). The three of them made it all the way to the underground Navajo railroad in Window Rock, Arizona. The railroad's purpose was to hide Breeds with Navajo genetics from the Genetics Council. The three runaways asked for help from the Navajo elders, who promised them safety and a new start (this is thirteen years before the events in Bengal's Quest). Quite by accident (or perhaps fate), around that same time, the granddaughter of the Navajo Chief, Claire Martinez, died in a tragic car accident, along with her best friend, Liza Johnson. With the Genetics Council hot on "Fawn's" trail (because they suspected she was Gideon's mate and they wanted to capture him by luring him out with her), the Navajo elders came up with a desperate plan: through a mystical Navajo ritual, the spirit of Claire Martinez would be transplanted into "Fawn's" (Cat's) body and her own memories repressed in favor of Claire's memories (Honor would have the same thing done to her, only her spirit would be Liza Johnson). Judd would take off to distract the Council soldiers long enough for the ritual to be done. In the end, the ritual worked, and the soul of Claire took up space next to Cat's own soul in Cat's body (it worked for Honor/Liza, too). Immediately afterwards, the girls underwent plastic surgery for their facial features to hide them more completely (Cat's face was reconstructed to resemble what Claire would have looked like had she lived, and Honor to resemble Liza). As a result of the ritual, however, Cat's soul was repressed by Claire's, and she was put into a deep sleep, while Claire's consciousness controlled Cat's body. The elaborate ruse worked, the Breed soldiers tracking Cat's Breed scent lost her trail completely (when Claire was in control of the body, Cat's inner tigress was repressed and no Bengal scent marker was made), and so they returned to the Council and reported Catarina had died in a car accident (ironically, that one that had actually claimed Claire Martinez's life, instead of the other way around). Thirteen years passed, and Cat (using the name Claire Martinez) now worked with the Navajo Covert Law Enforcement Division and was a secret member of the Navajo’s Breed Underground Network, along with Honor Roberts (who goes by the name Liza Johnson), Ashley Truing (who admits Cat/Claire has learned some "mad driving skills"), Emma Truing, Link, Shiloh Gage, and Chimera Broussard. The Bureau of Breed Affairs has tracked Gideon to Window Rock, Arizona where the Navajo nation has its headquarters. Through a series of encounters over a year's span, they slowly narrow down the search on Gideon and the reason he's traveled all the way to Arizona: to find Claire Martinez, a.k.a. Cat. Cat/Claire again meets Gideon (who is now going under the pseudonym 'Graeme Parker' to throw everyone off his real trail). He thinks she's old enough and knowledgeable enough now to handle Mating Heat, and so he approaches her to get it started. Cat/Claire, however, refuses to give in so easily. She remembers Gideon's cruel words to her when last they met, and over the years, she's built up so much anger and resentment that she refuses him. Eventually, they come to an impasse, then to an understanding. As the Mating Heat draws them to each other, Cat/Claire finds it impossible to deny Gideon/Graeme any longer. They mate and fall in love, although it takes longer for her to eventually forgive him for everything that came before. Doing so causes a cascading effect: Claire Martinez's soul can no longer remain hidden inside Cat's body, and it begins to reveal all of Cat's hidden memories to her, revealing itself to her at long last.
Cavalier – Coyote Breed. High level enforcer. Spent time in the Chernov labs in Siberia.
Chanda "Dacey" Truing - Coyote Breed.
Charity Dunmore-Chance - Human.
Chelsea Martinez (a.k.a. Chel, "minx") - Human. Granddaughter of Orrin Martinez and an unnamed Human of the Navajo Nation (deceased). Daughter of Terran Martinez. Sister of Isabelle Martinez-Morgan. Niece of Morningstar Martinez (deceased). Niece of Raymond Martinez. Niece of Joseph Martinez. Cousin of Claire Martinez (deceased). Cousin of Lawe Justice. Cousin of Rule Breaker. Cousin of Lincoln Martinez. Cousin of Megan Fields-Arness. Mate of Judd Cross (alias Cullen Maverick) (Wake A Sleeping Tiger). Former lover of two men (both of whom are married and living somewhere on the East Coast of the United States). Former housemate of Honor Christine Roberts-Black (alias Liza Johnson) and Catrina "Cat" Greymore-Parker (alias Claire Martinez). At the age of twelve, her father had put her in self-defense and firearms courses. During her teen years, whenever her cousin, Lincoln Martinez, was home on leave from his time in the U.S. Special Forces, he would train with her in firearms and self-defense. She became a legal secretary at age sixteen for her father, working under his supervision in his office and under his supervision, she did clerical admin work for the Navajo Breed Underground Network as well. At age eighteen (the year Lauren Maverick died from terminal cancer), Chelsea had finally qualified to work field operations for the Navajo Breed Underground Network, and she did work on a few that were mostly danger-free. For several years, she continued to work for her father's office and smaller Underground Network jobs on the sly. Eventually, she quit her father's office. At the beginning of Wake A Sleeping Tiger, Chelsea is twenty-six years old. She'd been working with Cullen and the Navajo Covert Law Enforcement Agency as Cullen's clerical personal assistant in the office for four years, but she'd wanted to go back and work in either Field Ops, Command, or Logistics. Cullen, however, would not let her work such dangerous duties, claiming she wasn't qualified (when, in fact, it was really because he was concerned for her safety). She finally had enough of his blocking her career goals and resigned from the Agency. That same night, Cullen lost control of his recessed Primal instincts and bit Chelsea with a Mating Mark upon her throat. He stopped before it went too far, but the damage was done. Chelsea ran from his house and didn't look back. A week later, she intercepted a transmission and went out to the desert to check it out. Out there, she rescued a young child, Louisa Cerves, daughter of infamous criminal cartel leader Samara Cerves (a.k.a. the Blood Queen) from a group of Coyote soldiers who had kidnapped her. Unfortunately, Louisa succumbed to her injuries and died. Chelsea was devastated by the news. Soon afterwards, she applied for a job for the Navajo Nation's police force, but was rejected. Then, she tried for a private policing agency, but when they'd asked for references, Cullen had refused to give them, so they wouldn't hire her. Eventually, she took a job working for the Covert Breed Management Division (a.k.a. the Breed Underground Information Network, a department under the Western Division of the Bureau of Breed Management) under Cassandra "Cassie" Colder-Sinclair's supervision. Description: Genetics are half-Navajo Indian, half-European Caucasian. Straight, long, black hair. Brown eyes flecked with green. Light-brown skin. A bit shorter than average height. Graeme Parker believes Chelsea has inherited some of her grandfather's psychic abilities, although she is recessed (doesn't recognize them), much as her mate, Cullen, is a recessed Primal Breed. Cullen thinks her psychic ability is mental projection, because he's heard her voice in his head several times over the years.
Chet - Human. Hired as private protection for Senator Aaron C. Ryder at his estate in Arlington, Virginia. Prejudiced against Breeds, who could sense his hatred for them. His father was on Carson Ryder's Navy SEAL team. Killed by Cassandra Colder-Sinclair (a.k.a. Cassie, the Breed Princess, Halfling); she threw her knife at him and pierced him through the heart, killing him instantly as he attempted to draw down on her mate, Cainis Ryder (a.k.a. Cain, Dog) in Cross Breed. DECEASED.
Chimera Broussard - Jaguar Breed. First mentioned in: A Jaguar's Kiss. Sister of Saban Broussard. Sister-in-law of Natalie Ricci-Broussard. Friends with Liza Johnson/Honor Roberts, Chelsea Martinez, and Claire Martinez/Catarina "Cat" Greymore.
Cian - Winged Breed. Second in command of the winged breeds.
Claire Martinez - Human. Granddaughter of Orrin Martinez. Daughter of Raymond Martinez (deceased). Niece of Terran Martinez. Niece of Morningstar Martinez (deceased). Cousin of Lawe Justice and Rule Breaker (incorrectly named her uncles in Bengal's Quest). Cousin of Isabelle Martinez-Morgan. Cousin of Chelsea Martinez. Cousin of Lincoln Martinez. Cousin of Megan Fields-Arness. Second cousin (on Raymond Martinez's side of the family) of an unnamed person who works for the Navajo Nation's Health Department. When she was fifteen, while living on the Navajo reservation in Window Rock, Arizona, she stole her father's car and she and her best friend, Liza Johnson, took it for a joyride. They ended up having a car accident which killed both her and Liza Johnson (this happened twelve years before the events in Bengal's Quest). As her body lay dying, through an ancient Navajo ritual, her soul was transfused into the body of Catarina "Cat" Graymore-Parker (in an effort to hide Cat from the Genetics Council, who were hot on her trail). The transfer caused Cat's memories of her past to be repressed, and Claire's soul's will was strong enough to convinced Cat that she was Claire Martinez. Claire's dead body was then buried with a headstone that claimed she was "Fawn Corrigan" (Cat's alias) to protect Cat from the Genetics Council. Claire's soul continues to reside in Cat's body alongside Cat (a spirit possession), but she finally released Cat's former members and made herself known to Cat in Bengal's Quest. After being 'outed', Claire was not exorcised/expelled by Cat, however, and the two women continue to share a body. BODY DECEASED, BUT SOUL IS STILL ALIVE INSIDE ANOTHER.

Crank - Coyote Breed. Guard at Sanctuary.
Crawford - Human. First appearance: Megan's Mark. Officer
Creed Raines - Lion Breed. Enforcer for the Bureau of Breed Affairs. Mate of Kita Claire Engalls-Raines (Primal Kiss). Son-in-law of Horace Engalls (through his mating). Has had many lovers, both human and Breed (number and names unknown), all willing and into rough sex. Mating flavor: Cinnamon and spice. Creed had been one of a few Breeds who had been spared while growing up: the lab he'd been created in and had lived for all of his young life hadn't been filled with sadistic scientists. Also, once Breed rescues had begun world-wide, the scientists, soldiers, and trainers there had worked with the Breeds to see to their safe release and transport to Sanctuary. As a result, Creed hadn't undergone much of the same trauma as other Breeds in other labs. Once at Sanctuary, he'd decided to join Jonas Wyatt's team, and once Wyatt had transitioned from soldier to politician, Creed had gone along with him to become one of the new Bureau of Breed Affairs' Enforcer teams. Years passed while he fulfilled that role, and for some assignments, he'd be required to change his hair color, eye color, name, etc. Creed never seemed to mind, for being a covert operator appealed to him. One day, Wyatt approached Creed about going deep undercover (hiding his Breed status with clever dental covers and scent blocker medications) to become Horace Engalls' chief security advisor. Creed accepted the assignment, which included bodyguard duty for Horace's reckless daughter, Kita. The moment he met her, Creed knew Kita was his mate. He did his best not to let that interfere with his intelligence gathering for Jonas Wyatt and the Bureau, though. For a year, he infiltrated the Engall estate, learning and reporting back what he'd discovered. He'd also spent that time getting to know Kita...and falling in love with her. When things reached a crisis point, where it was clear lines were going to be crossed between him and Kita, and Kita's relationship with her father became strained, Kita fled to the safety of a secret cabin in the Tennessee woods (one she'd purchased under a pseudonym). Unable to help himself, Creed followed her, and despite all his reservations and concerns, he kissed her at long last, beginning the Mating Heat...and blowing his cover at the same time. To his relief, Kita wasn't disgusted by his Breed status or angry at him for his duplicity. Instead, she seemed to accept him. They made love, but Creed was careful to wear a condom so he didn't worsen the Mating Heat symptoms for her. For four days, they stayed at the cabin together, making love (with condoms) and talking. Kita put together everything she'd read in the tabloids and heard in rumor about Breed mating habits, and decided that Creed didn't want to mate her for life, just for the moment--hence his precautions (no kissing, wearing a condom). They fought over it, and it was then that Creed finally understood that Kita loved him back. He admitted his love for her, and mates her fully, this time without a condom and with a kiss.

Sister of Serena Wallace (deceased). After surviving being raped and brutalized by Douglas Watts and the other Deadly Dozen members, she discovered her child had died in her womb as a result of the trauma, and that her mate had been beheaded and his head taken as a trophy by her attackers. She worked with Patrick Wallace, her brother-in-law, to exact revenge upon the Deadly Dozen.

Devil Black (a.k.a. The Grim Reaper, called 'Devril Black' in Wake A Sleeping Tiger) – Wolf Breed. Works under Lobo Reever. Mate of Mary Katherine "Katie" O’Sullivan-Black. Of Irish descent, and has the accent to prove it.
Devon Marshal - Human. Ex-husband of Rachel Broen-Wyatt. Biological father of Amber Diane Broen-Wyatt. Cruel and greedy man, who hates Breeds.
Diane Broen-Justice - Human. Mate of Lawe Justice (Lawe's Justice). Biological sister of Rachel Broen-Wyatt, biological aunt of Amber Diane Broen-Wyatt, sister-in-law of Jonas Wyatt and Rule Breaker. A covert operative of the Bureau of Breed Affairs, she and her team infiltrated Phillip Brandenmore's private security force in an effort to bring the Genetics Council down. When Kita Claire Engalls-Raines' life was threatned by a deranged Phillip Brandenmore (who had, by then, escaped Breed custody and tracked his niece down to a cabin in Tennessee), Diane was there to stop Phillip. After Brandenmore was taken back into custody by Wyatt, Diane and her team pulled out, and were reassigned to the Gideon Cross case (specifically, finding him and bringing him in for Jonas Wyatt). It was there, while on assignment in New Mexico, that she met Lawe Justice, the Breed who was to be her mate.
Dog - See entry for Cainis.
Dorothy Tallant - Human. Council Scientist. Mother of Scheme Tallant-Reynolds. DECEASED.
Dougal Mackenzie - Human. Former Genetics Council scientist. Biological grandfather of Styx Mackenzie. Mate of Animera Mackenzie.
Douglas - Human. First mentioned: Enthralled: The Devil's Due. Mary Katherine "Katie" O'Sullivan's fiance.
Douglas - Feline Breed. First mentioned: Coyote's Mate. He was the junior-grade soldier stationed at the Citadel who attempted three separate times to murder Anya Korbin-Delgado. He was working with the mayor of Advent, Colorado, Timothy Raines, to kill Anya. Was killed, along with seven other Advent city council members and Timothy Raines when Jax and a group of enforcer Coyotes found them and rescued Anya from them. DECEASED.
Douglas Finnell – Human. Former Vice President of the United States. Former head of the Genetics Council. Ordered the termination of all Wolf Breeds.
Douglas Watts (a.k.a. The Reaper) - Human. First appearance: Bengal's Heart. Ex-"husband" of Cassa Hawkins-St. Laurents (technically, he'd set up the marriage to seem real, but it hadn't been. Cassa had believed it to be, however). Traitor working with the Genetics Council to destroy the Breeds. Member of the Deadly Dozen and responsible for the brutal deaths of nineteen of Cabal St. Laurents' blood-related family members at the Germany secret Breed facility (only Cabal and four others escaped), as well as several other Breeds he'd canned hunted with the Deadly Dozen (including a female Breed who was pregnant at the time; he raped her repeatedly until she and her unborn baby died). Prideful of the fact that his family could trace its roots back to the Mayflower. His spine was severely injured in Cabal's escape from the labs, and he was held in a secret prison in the Middle East by Jonas Wyatt so he could live out the remainder of his life immobile and helpless (justice for his crimes). He was briefly released from the prison by Jonas Wyatt and taken to Glen Ferris, West Virginia to try to draw out Azrael, who was after all of the Deadly Dozen members. To accomplish this, Douglas was given a bio-mechanical chip that would allow him to walk again for a brief period of time. When Azrael kidnapped Cassa and offered to sell her to Douglas (a ruse to get the man out in the open so Azrael could kill him), Cassa escaped. Douglas was injured in the fight to try to reclaim her, and he was returned to the Middle East prison, completely unable to move from the neck down. He was a broken man after that, giving up every bit of information he knew on the Deadly Dozen and the Genetics Council, hoping Jonas Wyatt would show him mercy and end his pitiful life for him in exchange for his full cooperation. Wyatt did not kill Douglas, however, instead leaving him in the same condition as he'd been before: paralyzed and unable to die, lying alone in a room without any stimulation for the rest of his life.
Dr. Agullera - Human. First appearance: Aiden's Charity. Scientist in the Wolf labs in Mexico. Depraved and perverted, acts superior. Responsible for creating the aphrodisiac used on the captive Breeds to force their bodies to want to have sex, despite their mind's will.

Seemed saddened by the deaths of many of the other Breed 'subjects' in the experimental labs.
Dr. Montoya - Human.
Dr. Vasquez - Human.
Draeger - Wolf Breed. First appearance: Wake A Sleeping Tiger. Works with Cassandra "Cassie" Sinclair at the Covert Breed Management Division, under the Western Division of the Bureau of Breed Affairs. Supposedly not aligned to any pack alpha. When Ranger attempts to attack Chelsea at Cullen's house, Draeger steps in between and serves as a shield. He is asked by Cullen, eventually, to escort Ranger off his property. Afterwards, Draeger and Cullen talk about the danger Ranger really presents. Description: Short, black hair. Blue eyes.
Drey Hampton - Human. First mention: Megan's Mark. Threw a cocktail party that Jonas Wyatt attended.
Dunkirk - Human. He died in a boating accident in Window Rock, Arizona the summer before the events in Stygian's Honor. When the authorities found Dunkirk's body in the lake, they also found a bag of bones belonging to unknown people lying on the lake's bottom (these were the Genetics Council soldiers who had been trailing after Catarina "Cat" Greymore, a.k.a. "Fawn Corrigan", Judd Cross, and Honor Roberts; the Navajo nation's underground railroad soldiers killed them, dismembered them, and threw the parts into the lake to hide them, and that discovery is what had prompted Honor Roberts' memories to return). DECEASED.

Biological mother of Jonas Wyatt (did not give birth to him, however, as the embryo was implanted in another woman). Biological mother of Callan Lyons (did not give birth to him, however, as the embryo was implanted in another woman). Prima of the African Lion Breeds.
Elyiana Morrey (a.k.a. Ely) – Lion Breed. Feline Breed physician and scientist specializing in mating heat. By the beginning of Mercury's War, Ely had already been slipped by Alaiya Jennings (a.k.a. Uriel, who was working with the Genetics Council as a saboteur) a mind-control drug that, upon each successive dose, created in her an addiction for the drug, as well as and an inability to refuse orders by the one giving her the drugs. As a result, Ely had begun acting less rational, and more emotional. The mood swings escalated fast; she became quick to anger, nervous and jittery, and finally became aggressively paranoid. Upon Alaiya's "suggestion", Ely began to become more and more insistent that Mercury Warrant was returning to a state of Feral Fever, and demanded more tests be run on him to confirm her theory. When Mercury, who was undergoing Mating Heat at that time, refused Ely's tests, she began to panic, believing him a powder-keg waiting to go off. Jonas Wyatt began to suspect almost immediately that Elyiana was acting off the mark, and he confined her to her quarters after she got into a heated argument with him in front of the Breed Council and demanded they cage Mercury immediately. When she was broken out of her confinement (presumably by Alaiya), she held Mercury, Mercury's mate Ria Rodriguez, and Wyatt at gunpoint, and demanded Mercury inject a lethal serum into his arm, claiming he was suffering Feral Fever and putting them all at risk. She wanted him to put himself down for the good of the group. Fortunately, she was disarmed by Ria and Alaiya (who was cunning enough to realize her plans had gone awry and that Ely was out of control, and that she needed to appear innocent of any possible involvement in Ely's erratic behavior, which had coincided with Alaiya's appearance at Sanctuary). Wyatt had Ely arrested before any harm could come to Mercury or his mate, thankfully, and she was put in a cell in the labs for processing. Effectively removed from duty, it took Ely a year to get the drug out of her system. She suffered PTSD and a heavy dose of guilt after she'd detoxed. After a year, she returned to her research, but was withdrawn and quiet, not at all the woman she had been. Worse, she was determined to cut herself off from everyone, including her guard and unclaimed mate, Jackal, so she could never put any of them at risk ever again.
Emma Truing – Coyote Breed. Twin of Ashley Truing. One of Anya Corbin-Delgado's best friends and bodyguards. Escaped the Russian labs with Anya, her sister, and the other female Coyotes. Lives in the Citadel.

Fawn Corrigan - See entry for Catarina "Cat" Graymore-Parker.
Fidel Sanchez - Human. Second in Command for the Cerves family's cartel business. He had been left in charge during the time after Louisa Cerves' death. He'd stated he wasn't responsible for putting out the contract of assassination on Chelsea Martinez-Maverick, but that one of his soldiers, Hector Morales, did seem to recognize the voice. Morales was to find out who the mystery man who'd hired them was and report back to Sanchez, but he never did (Morales was murdered in jail, after being arrested for taking part in the assassination attempt on Chelsea). When Sanchez found out Chelsea was a mate to a Breed soon after, however, he'd decided there was more money to be made by turning Chelsea over to the Genetics Council instead. Before he could do so, however, the mystery man who'd hired him called him up and told him to kill Morales and finish the job on Chelsea or else. Sanchez was found out before he could make a move, however. The Cerveses turned him over to Director Rule Breaker and the Western Division of the Bureau of Breed Affairs to be interrogated and tried under Breed law.
Flint McCain - Coyote Breed.
Gabriel - Unknown Breed. Went to Window Rock, Arizona soon after Callan Lyons 'outed' the Breeds to the world, to search for his missing family. According to Liza Johnson/Honor Roberts, his mother had been released by the Genetics Council, rather than killed after the birth of her second child (Gabriel's half-sister), but the woman died in childbirth. He took his half-sister and disappeared with her soon after finding her.
Gena Waters – Human. Works for the Genetics Council. Pretends to be the friend of Storme Montague. Plans the kidnapping of David Lyons and Cassandra "Cassie" Colder Sinclair. Lover of Coyote Breed, Marx Whitman.
Gideon Cross (alias Graeme Parker, a.k.a. "G", The Executioner, Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde) - Bengal Breed (Primal). First appearance: Navarro's Promise. Identical twin brother of Judd Cross (alias Cullen Maverick). Mate to Catarina "Cat" Graymore-Parker (alias Fawn Corrigan, alias Claire Martinez) (Bengal's Quest). At birth, was named Gideon Cross. Later in life, he changed his name to Graeme Parker to escape the Genetics Council. His Primal animal (Gideon, a.k.a. The Executioner, Mr. Hyde) is almost completely separate from his normal, primary personality (Graeme, a.k.a. "G", Dr. Jekyll), hence the use of two names. The Primal animal is violent, all about the need for blood and revenge, but cunning in how it goes about getting what it wants. He does not like to be referred to as 'Gideon Cross'; in fact, it makes him angry when someone does call him this. After his younger, twin brother, Judd, did as Gideon wanted and took Cat to safety out of the labs, he lost track of his brother and future mate for years. He was finally able to track down Judd (who was calling himself Cullen Maverick then) to Window Rock, Arizona sometime soon after Cullen's human wife, Lauren Holden-Maverick, had died from terminal cancer. He could not locate Cat, though (a result of Claire Martinez's soul sharing a body with hers then, thus changing her scent and even the psychic 'feel' of Cat. Also, the facial reconstructive surgery she'd gone through had made her look different from how Gideon remembered Cat, and that also thew him off). Sometime after mating Cat, the more useful instincts belonging to Graeme's Primal self (re: intuitively sensing genetic and emotional bonds between people, and being able to physically scent and recognize genetic markers in the people around him) began to really emerge. He was still insane, still split into two distinct personalities inside his mind, but Graeme could control the insanity better after mating Cat, thus retaining his higher self on a much more regular basis. Description: Stands at 6'5" tall, has sandy-blond hair and brows, amber-flecked green eyes, and is identical to Judd in features, except he has Bengal stripes criss-crossing his face and body when his Primal instincts emerge. He also has facial scars/deformities from his years remaining in labs and on the run that his brother does not. By the beginning of Lawe's Justice, he and his twin are both in their mid-30's.
Gilliam Finneghea - Human. First appearance: Enthralled: The Devil's Due. The Breed Protection Network’s training center operator. A former American special forces soldier and United Nations undercover intelligence officer, Gilliam had not just trained some of the top covert agents the United Nations had ever employed, but he had also gone against some of the best, and had come out of each battle alive.
Gloria "Ria" Rodriguez-Warrant - Hybrid Lyon Breed. First appearance: Mercury's War. Mate of Mercury Warrant (Mercury's War). Daughter of an unnamed female Hybrid breed (who was Leo Vanderdale's biological daughter, created as a test tube baby) and her male Human mate. Dane Vanderdale's assistant.

Harlen Mayhew - Human. Brother of Holden Mayhew. Was the first to alert his insane brother, Holden Mayhew, that Isabelle Martinez-Morgan (the object of Holden's obsession) was involved with Malachi Morgan. After Holden was killed, Harlen began working with the Genetics Council. He (along with an unnamed male Coyote Breed working with the Genetics Council) was killed by Claire Martinez/Catarina "Cat" Graymore in Stygian's Honor when he attempted to kidnap Liza Johnson/Honor Roberts from her home one night, but went into the wrong bedroom. DECEASED.
Hawke Sanders - Wolf Breed. Pack leader.
Hector Morales - Human. Member of the Cerves criminal cartel. With four other members of the cartel, he attacked Chelsea Martinez-Maverick on the streets of Window Rock, attempting to kidnap her or kill her. His attempt was thwarted, and he was the only surviving member of his group. He was taken into the Navajo Covert Law Enforcement Agency for questioning by Ranger, but someone got to Morales before he he could be interrogated and they slit his throat while he was still in his cell. The cameras were checked afterwards, and it was found that they'd been turned off in advance to avoid his murder being recorded. His killer turned out to be Ranger, who had been the one to hire Morales (and other Cerves cartel members) to assassinate Cheslea Martinez-Maverick. DECEASED.
Helena Graymore - Human.
Henry Richard “H.R.” Alonzo - Human. Christian Reverend. Great-grandson of the elder Vanderdale who had donated his sperm to create the first Breed. Fanatical scourge of the Breed community. Family in the highest ranks of the Genetics Council. Pours vast amounts of money into the pure-blood societies. One of the “Deadly Dozen”, killed by Patrick Wallace. DECEASED.
Holden Mayhew - Human. Unable to win Isabelle Martinez-Morgan's affections normally, he attempted to rape and then kidnap her in an attempt to sell her to the Genetics Council as a Breed Mate. He was shot and killed by Malachi Morgan in An Inconvenient Mate. DECEASED.
Honor Christine Roberts-Black (a.k.a. Liza Johnson, "Munchkin") - Mate of Stygian Black (Stygian's Honor). Member of the Navajo Covert Law Enforcement Division and a secret member of the Navajo’s Breed Underground Network. Had been diagnosed at a young age with a terminal and aggressive form of cancer that had no known cure and no remission possibilities. In desperation, her parents had turned to Philip Brandenmore at Brandenmore Labs, as he was working on rare cancer therapies at that time. She had run away from Brandenmore Labs, along with Catrina "Cat" Graymore and Judd Cross, and the three ended up seeking sanctuary from the Navajo Nation in New Mexico, being hidden by the Navajo Breed Underground Network. Around that same time (twelve years before the events of Stygian's Honor), a member of the tribe, fifteen-year-old Liza Johnson, had died in a tragic car accident with her best friend, Claire Martinez, while out joyriding in a stolen car. The Breed Network decided the best way to hide the fifteen-year-old Honor from the world was to pretend she had been the one to die in that car accident instead of Liza (they looked similar, were the same age, and have roughly the same body type). Using an elaborate Navajo ritual, the Network transferred the soul of Liza Johnson into Honor's body, sublimating Honor's memories and personality in favor of Liza's. The Network them performed facial reconstruction surgery on Honor's face, cementing her appearance as Liza, and Liza's body was buried under a headstone that claimed she was "Honor Roberts" to protect Honor from the Genetics Council. Honor did not remember who she really was, or where she came from; she truly believed herself to be Liza from that point forward. She lived Liza's life, and ended up joining the Navajo Covert Law Enforcement Division. Judd, who by then had taken on a new alias as Cullen Maverick, was also a member of the division (he'd worked his way up into a prominent position, in fact), and as a result, was recruited by the Navajo Breed Underground Network. He recruited Liza/Honor, and became her sponsor and her guardian, training her in the ways of the Underground Network (which was more intensive covert training than she'd previously had). Nicknamed "Munchkin" by Cullen Maverick and Reever Jacobs, who worked with her in the division, she worked to save Breeds from rogue Council soldiers and scientists and to keep the secrets of the Navajo nation from the world. Two months after the events of An Inconvenient Mate and a few weeks after the events in Lawe's Justice, she was mated to the Wolf Breed, Stygian Black (he was in Window Rock, Arizona with the Bureau to chase down Gideon Cross). Prior to their mating, Honor/Liza was a virgin, and wasn't interested in dating anyone (she hated controlling, misogynistic men and wasn't into women, so not dating at all). She is very good friends with Chelsea Martinez, Claire Martinez/Catarina "Cat" Greymore, Isabelle Martinez-Morgan, Cullen Maverick, Klah Hunter, Reever Jacobs, Ashley Truing, Emma Truing, Shiloh Gage, and Chimera Broussard. She had, at one time, been a close friend of Megan Fields-Arness, too, but became less so after Megan had been mated by the Breed, Braden Arness, and began working with the Bureau of Breed Affairs, an organization that the Navajo nation did not trust. Prior to mating Stygian Black, Honor/Liza was roommates with Isabelle Martinez-Morgan (until she'd mated Malachi Morgan and moved out), Claire Martinez/Catarina "Cat" Greymore, and Chelsea Martinez (who moved in after Isabelle moved out). Once Honor/Liza mated Stygian Black, however, she moved in with him.
Horace Engalls - Human. Founder and CEO of Engalls Pharmaceuticals. Married to Mrs. Engalls (name unknown-deceased), father to Kita Claire Engalls-Raines and an unnamed female child (she disowned the Engalls family and ran off-current location unknown). For years after his wife's untimely death, due to a rare form of cancer, he worked with the Genetics Council and Brandenmore Pharmaceuticals (a company owned by his brother-in-law, Phillip Brandenmore, who was in the pocket of the Genetics Council) to secretly develop an anti-aging pill or serum from Breed Mating physiology in an attempt to arrest or cure the cancer that was in remission in his wife. He was arrested and indicted on charges of drugging Dr. Elyianna "Ely" Morrey and on conspiracy to murder several Breeds. Jonas Wyatt, however, let him go when it was revealed that Horace had been secretly passing information to the Bureau for years regarding the Council and Brandenmore Pharma (that revelation came only a few days before Phillip Brandenmore went after Kita, Horace's estranged daughter). During a confrontation with the deranged Phillip, in which Brandenmore held Kita and her mate, Creed Raines, hostage, Horace shot his brother-in-law in the shoulder and knocked him unconscious. Horace thought his brother-in-law had died in that conflict, however, and blamed himself for Phillip's death. However, Brandenmore hadn't died then; Jonas Wyatt continued to make Horace think this, despite knowing Brandenmore was alive and taking him into custody. Kita and Horace reunited and all was forgiven.

Went missing after Brandenmore and Engalls were arrested for conspiracy to drug Dr. Elyianna Morrey and conspiring to murder Breeds. Murdered by someone in his own government, according to Douglas Watts. DECEASED.
Jackal – Human. Enforcer at Sanctuary. First appearance: The Man Within. Recruited by Kane Tyler. Just as deadly as any Breed. Personal guard of Dr. Elyiana "Ely" Morrey, who was destined to be his Breed mate (despite the fact she refused to acknowledge him as such, much less claim him).

DECEASED.
Jax - Coyote Breed. First appearance: Coyote's Mate. Enforcer. Biological younger brother of Brim Stone and Del-Rey Delgado, although unacknowledged by both breeds (to keep him safe).
Jenny Austin-Carrew - Human. Research assistant.
Jessica Reever (originally named Josephine Langer-Gallagher in The Devil's Due, but her name was changed in Bengal's Quest) - Human. Mother of Khileen Langer-Gallagher. Ex-wife of Jorn Langer (deceased). Mate of Lobo Reever. Had been Raymond Martinez's secret contact for the Genetics Council in Window Rock, Arizona. She tried to kill her daughter and Lobo on Council orders, and now both Lobo and Khi despise the woman and want to see her dead. Faked her death in a riding accident the year before the events of Bengal's Quest, and Lobo sent his brother, Tiberius Reever, to find out the truth. Tiberius discovered Jessica was alive, but he had not been able to find her as of the beginning of Bengal's Quest.
John Bollen - Human.
John Kodiak- Wolf Breed. Cross breeds
John O’Brien - Human.
John Tyler - Human. Owner of The National Press, an American newspaper of note. Father of Merinus Tyler-Lyons, Kane Tyler, and six other sons (unnamed). Married a Feline Breed (unknown what kind or who she is, as that information is buried deeply by the Bureau and the Feline Pride that not even the Alphas of the other Breed species know about it).
Jolian “Joley” Brandeau - Jaguar Breed. First appearance: Bengal's Heart. Was in love with Cabal St. Laurents. Was wrongly accused by Tanner and Cabal for being a Council spy. Was murdered by the real spy in Bengal's Heart. DECEASED.
Jonas Wyatt (a.k.a. The Bogeyman of the Breeds, The Mate Matcher) - Lion Breed (Primal). First appearance: Tempting the Beast. Mate of Rachel Broen-Wyatt (Lion’s Heat). Adopted father of Amber Diane Broen-Wyatt. Son of Leo Vanderdale's sperm and Elizabeth Vanderdale's egg combination, and implanted into the womb of a human female scientist who was loyal to the Genetics Council (she gave actual birth to him, but none of the gamete material was hers). Biological brother of Dane Vanderdale and Callan Lyons. Biological uncle of Gloria "Ria" Rodriguez-Warrant. Director of the Bureau of Breed Affairs. Primal from birth. Was created to be a stud for a Lion army for the Genetics Council that was meant to turn on all Breeds and destroy them, should they ever break free of the Council's control (he was created to destroy his own kind). For years, he believed his genetic mother to be the Council scientist who birthed him, but in Lion's Heat he discovered the truth that Elizabeth and Leo are his biological parents. When he discovers the anomaly of Mating Heat and is in the Directorship position, he begins to use his political power (as well as his own finely tuned Breed senses) to manipulate Breeds into situations where they can find their mates, knowing that the only chance of survival for the entire Breed population as a whole is to integrate themselves so thoroughly into human society, that the humans won't ever again be able to strip them of their rights to personhood. He's very sneaky about it, denying his intentions when confronted, of course. For this reason, he is nicknamed the 'Mate Matcher' by Breeds who know what he's up to. Description: Stands 6' 6". Weighs 250 lbs. All muscle. Short, military cut hair. Gray eyes. Bears a tattoo on his scalp with his former Genetics Council lab designation and birth ranking - "F2-07".
Jorn Langer - Human. First appearance: Enthralled anthology - The Devil's Due. Shot in the chest and presumed dead while trying to help Barrett O'Sullivan, his best friend, save the man's nine-year-old daughter, Katie O'Sullivan, from the Genetics Council lab where she'd been taken after having been kidnapped by Council soldiers. He survived that fatal hit, however, thanks to a serum injected into him by a Breed Tigress, who was one of the Nephilim (Breeds that were so close to being animals that they were considered failures by the labs and held back in reserve for extreme uses). The Breed Tigress was his mate, although he didn't know it at the time.
Jose Jensen - Human. First appearance: Megan's Mark. Deputy for the Broken Butte, New Mexico Sheriff's Office. One of two suspected by Jonas Wyatt as setting up Megan Fields-Arness for assassination by the Genetics Council.
Joseph Jacobs - Half-human, Half-Lion Breed. Son of Lance Jacobs and Harmony Jacobs. Brother of an unnamed sibling.
Joseph Martinez (I) - Human. Brother of Orrin Martinez. Father of Mrs. Martinez-Fields. Father-in-law of David Fields. Grandfather of Megan Fields-Arness. Description: Elderly. Wrinkled, dusky skin. Gray hair always bound in two braids at the sides of his head. Sharp gaze.
Joseph Martinez (II) (a.k.a. Joe) - Human. Father of Claire Martinez (deceased). Uncle of Isabelle Martinez-Morgan. Uncle of Chelsea Martinez-Maverick. It had been his car that Claire Martinez and her friend, Liza Johnson, had stolen for a joy ride the night the two women got into a car accident and died. Best friends with Liza Johnson's father and Terran Martinez.
Josephine Langer-Gallagher (named changed to Jessica Reever in Bengal's Quest) - Human. See entry for Jessica Reever.
Josiah Black - Wolf Breed. Enforcer.
Juan Cerves - Human. First appearance: Wake A Sleeping Tiger. Husband of Samara Cerves (a.k.a. the Blood Queen). Father of Louisa Cerves (deceased). Brother of Esteban Cerves. Head of a criminal cartel, alongside his wife. Description: Tall. Broad. Physically fit. Black hair. Black eyes. Swarthy complexion. Not exactly handsome, though, because his expression was cold and emotionless.
Judd Cross (alias Cullen Maverick) - Bengal Breed (recessed Primal). First appearance: Rule Breaker. Identical twin, younger brother of Gideon Cross (alias Graeme Parker). Mate of Chelsea Martinez (To Wake A Sleeping Tiger). At birth, was named Judd Cross. Later in life, changed his name to Cullen Maverick to protect himself from the Genetics Council. Commander of the Navajo Covert Law Enforcement Agency. Pretended to be a member of the Navajo warrior elite, secret group, the Unknown Warriors, for a time. He lived in the labs for the first sixteen years of his life (and by the age of ten, his Breed genes had recessed completely), but when the labs had decided that he was no longer of use to them, they decided to terminate him. Of course, it was a ruse to lure Gideon Cross into returning (he'd escaped the labs four years earlier to get vital information about the Breeds research out to people who might be able to help the Breeds escape captivity). The trick worked, and Gideon returned. He was mortally wounded in the fighting, however. Judd's blood wouldn't work, because Gideon's chemistry had already been altered by the fact that Gideon had found his mate in one of their fellow lab-mates, Catrina "Cat" Greymore. Cat's blood saved Gideon, but sent him into a Feral Fever, because Cat was too young to mate at that moment. Gideon begged Judd to take Cat and run with her. He then threatened to kill her to frighten her into going with Judd. Judd took Cat and ran from the labs. He protected her for years from the Genetic Council while they made their way to freedom (during which time, Cat changed her name to 'Fawn Corrigan', an alias, to throw with Council off their scent). At some point, the two run-aways met up with a woman named Honor Roberts, who was also a Council lab escapee, and the three of them decided to stay together, hiding under the radar and pretending to be other people to escape the Genetics Council, Gideon, and anyone else looking to harm them. The three of them made it all the way to the Navajo Nation in Window Rock, Arizona (Judd was nineteen-years-old at the time), where they'd heard rumors that the Navajos were running a kind of Witness Protection Program for Breeds. They were hoping to get into that program. Their first night in Window Rock, they met a man named Terran Martinez, the Navajo Nation's President, who took them to his home and offered them vegetable soup and milk, as it was clear the three hadn't eaten in days. Wary of the offer (as they'd been trained in the labs that most food was drugged), exhausted, and still being pursued by Council soldiers, the three were about to turn down the offer when Chelsea Martinez, Terran's twelve-year-old daughter, appeared from the shadows where she'd been eavesdropping, and she berated Judd for being stupid for not enjoying the "yummy" offering. In that moment, Judd felt something inside him shift; his recessed animal woke up, noticed Chelsea, and decided upon her in that moment for its mate. Judd, however, wasn't cognizant of his inner animal's decision. All he knew was that his instincts told him to trust the little girl, and so he sat and ate the food. Honor and Cat followed his example. Soon afterwards, Terran took the three before the Navajo Breed Underground Network to decide their fates. The Network's purpose was to hide Breeds with Navajo genetics from the Genetics Council, and the the three runaways petitioned for help from the Navajo elders, who promised them safety and a new start (this is twelve years before the events in Bengal's Quest). Around this same time, two things happened: 1.) the Genetics Council had tracked down Judd, Honor, and Cat to Window Rock, and 2.) two young female Navajo tribe members (teenage girls named Claire Martinez and Liza Johnson) died in a terrible car accident. In order to better hide Honor and Cat from the Council, the Navajo elders struck a deal with Judd, Honor, and Cat: in exchange for giving Honor and Cat the identities of the dead Navajo teenagers (Claire and Liza), Honor and Cat would agree to undergo an ancient, secret Navajo spiritual ritual -- a spirit possession. Claire and Liza's souls were removed from their dead bodies and then bound to Cat and Honor's living bodies. In doing this, Cat's and Honor's personal memories would be repressed; they would believe themselves to really be Claire and Liza from then on. Furthermore, the two women would have their faces surgically reconstructed, so they better resembled Claire and Liza. This would effectively hide Cat and Honor from the Council, doing so in plain sight. Judd was told he had to change his name to "Cullen Maverick" and to keep his hair permanently dyed black to better fit in with the Navajo Nation's peoples, and he was tasked to stay in Window Rock to serve as Cat/Claire and Honor/Liza's secret guardian from the shadows. The three agreed to the deal. After that, Cullen took up work with the Navajo Covert Law Enforcement Agency and the Navajo Breed Underground. During this time, Cullen met a human woman, Lauren (fourth cousin of Chelsea Martinez), who was Raymond Martinez's assistant in the Navajo Nation's administrative office. Judd/Cullen fell in love with her and married her six months later (Chelsea was twelve or thirteen years old at the time). His wife had married him, however, not for love, but because she'd heard the rumors that Mating Heat existed from Raymond Martinez, and was told mating a Breed could cure her of her cancer, as well as extend her natural life. Cullen didn't mate her as a Breed, however, as there was no Mating Heat between them. She was unfaithful to him in the nearly two years they were married (having an affair with his friend and her ex-lover, Ranger), and Cullen knew this, but he loved her anyway and was faithful to her. She eventually died from terminal cancer just before their second anniversary, cursing Cullen for not loving her 'enough' to save her life (happened almost a decade before the beginning of Wake A Sleeping Tiger). Cullen was devastated with guilt. Sometime after that, he worked his way up at the Agency, until six years later, he became Commander of Operations. He had many personal assistants over those six years (most of whom ended up in his bed), the longest lasting of whom was two months... Until, twenty-two year old Chelsea Martinez took the job. As Chelsea and Cullen had remained friends over the years, they were relatively close (so much so that even when she'd been alive, Lauren had been insanely jealous of Chelsea's relationship with Cullen, despite its innocence). Chelsea worked for Cullen for four years, and the entire time, Cullen found he was unable to stop worrying about Chelsea's safety or thinking about her. He couldn't understand why, but he made sure during the time she worked for him that she was not promoted elsewhere, to prevent her from chasing after her "dangerous" dream of becoming a field operative. His protective instincts kicked in where Chelsea was concerned, although he refused to examine why that was too closely. When Gideon (calling himself by the alias "Graeme Parker" then) finally tracked down Cat/Claire to Window Rock, Cullen confronted his long, lost brother to determine his intentions. He realized then that Gideon/Graeme was in Mating Heat for Cat/Claire, and he stepped back to let nature take its course. Gideon/Graeme eventually mated Cat and freed her from Claire's influence, giving her back her memories of the past. Cullen felt then that he wouldn't have to worry about Cat/Claire any longer...nor his brother's future. A few months after that, Chelsea Martinez resigned from the Agency in despair, feeling as if Cullen was purposefully holding her back. Unable to take being pushed aside any longer, she left the Agency... and her leaving him is what set off Cullen's recessed Primal genetics at long last. He mated and fell in love with her. Description: Stands at 6'5" tall. Longish, sandy-blond hair and brows (just coming back after he'd spent years dyeing his hair black and dark brown to hide himself from the Genetics Council). Amber-flecked green eyes, heavy gold-tipped dark brown lashes. Is identical to Gideon, except he has no Bengal stripes criss-crossing his face or body and none of Gideon's facial scars/deformities from his brother's years remaining in labs and on the run. Bronzed skin. By the beginning of Lawe's Justice, he and his twin are both in their mid-30's. After Chelsea Martinez resigns from the Agency, he starts growing out a beard (he keeps it well trimmed). He's a loner by nature, too intense at times, guarded and self-controlled, arrogant and far too self-confident, in a quiet way. He was trained to kill, and is experienced in doing it in a number of ways, too. His organizational skills are good, except when it comes to paperwork (he's terrible at maintaining it). He is honorable, however, and devoted to his mate. He is the less dominant twin, but that doesn't mean he's weak or incapable of becoming Primal. Mating hormone's flavor: Cinnamon.
Kane Tyler - Human. First Appearance: Tempting the Beast. Mate of Sherra Callahan-Tyler (Kiss of Heat). Father of an unnamed son with Sherra Callahan-Tyler. Had conceived a child with Sherra Callahan-Tyler after their first time together, while she was still in the labs, but that child miscarried. Son of John Tyler. Brother of Merinus Tyler-Lyons and six other younger brothers (unnamed). Former special forces for the U.S. government, now a private mercenary and Security Chief for the Breeds' Feline compound, Sanctuary.
Katya Sobolova – Human. Niece of Dr. Alexei Chernov. Doctor. Coyote Breed Genetic specialist who worked in the Chernov Coyote Breed labs in Russia. A Council scientist, but not cruel or abusive; she refused to conduct experiments on the Breeds she created. One of the few Coyote Breed scientists left alive. In hiding from the Genetics Council.
Keegan - Winged Breed (exact type unknown). First appearance: Aiden's Charity. Alpha of the winged breeds. Psychic.
Keith - A Feline Breed (exact type unknown). First appearance: Bengal's Heart. Escaped the lab in Libya with Patrick "Azrael" Wallace thirty years before the main story in Bengal's Heart. Helped Patrick exact his revenge on the Deadly Dozen.
Kelly - Human. First mentioned: Bengal's Heart. Cassa Hawkins' work assistant. Described by Cassa as "smelling like a fruit stand" because she preferred to use soaps and shampoos and perfumes that were fruit-scented.
Kenneth Graymore - Human.
Kenton Sinclair - Wolf-Human (Hybrid). Dash Sinclair and Elizabeth Colder-Sinclair's son. Half-brother of Cassandra "Cassie" Colder-Sinclair. Half-brother of Mackenzie "Kenzie" Denton.
Khileen Langer (a.k.a. Khi) - Human. First mentioned: The Devil's Due. Daughter of Jorn Langer (presumed deceased). Daughter of Josephine Langer-Gallagher (named changed to Jessica Reever in Bengal's Quest). Unclaimed mate of Lobo Reever. Her father was shot in the chest and believed dead when Khileen was only five-years-old, while Jorn was attempting to help his best friend, Barrett O'Sullivan, save his nine-year-old daughter, Katie O'Sullivan, from the Genetics Council. Years later, Jessica remarried the alpha Wolf Breed, Lobo Reever (a marriage of convenience to somehow help his Wolf pack), and from the first, he'd loved Khileen (when she was a child, he loved her like she was his own daughter, although he never adopted her, however, so her last name never changed to his). Khi's mother abused her, however, often beating her and leaving bruises that were visible. Lobo saw those bruises, but never acted to stop Jessica from abusing her daughter. As a result, Khi grew to hate Lobo for not protecting her. Instead, she threw all her affections towards Lobo's brother, Tiberian Reever (a.k.a. Tiberius). What had started out as a need for a father figure turned into more as the years passed, however, and by the time she was sixteen, Khi had developed a crush on Tiberius. Sensing Khi's growing feelings for him and not returning them, Tiberius left one night without a word, disappearing for a long time. His abandonment crushed Khi. Then, when Jessica is finally outed as Raymond Martinez's Genetics Council contact, she tries to kill Khi and Lobo, but fails. She escapes, faking her death in a riding accident a year before the events of Bengal's Quest. Tiberius Reever is sent by Lobo to track and find her, to kill her once and for all, but as of the beginning of Bengal's Quest he has not been successful. As an adult, Khi continues to live at the Reever compound at Lobo's insistence (he has become more domineering of her since Jessica's leaving). As a result, things are strained between her and Lobo at home, but that only worsens when it becomes clear to both of them that Lobo is her Breed mate. When Lobo's friend, Gideon Cross (a.k.a. Graeme Parker) comes to Window Rock, Arizona, he befriends Khi and helps her ease the burn of Mating Heat that she experiences by giving her hormone therapy injections. During Bengal's Quest, Khi is sent by Cassandra Colder-Sinclair (a.k.a. Cassie, the Breed Princess, Halfling) to meet Gideon's intended mate, Catarina "Cat" Graymore-Parker. Khi befriends Cat and encourages her to give Gideon a chance. When Cassie, herself, is mated by Cainis Ryder (a.k.a. Cain, Dog) in Cross Breed, Khi is asked to be a bridesmaid at Cassie's wedding. In an attempt to get Lobo and Khi mated (primarily so he can observe an Alpha Wolf and human mating that ends in a successful pregnancy, since Wolf matings have the least success in conception and he wants to study that phenomena), Gideon denies Khi any more of the hormone shots by the end of Cross Breed. Khi is then forced to face Lobo and the mating she's been denying for two long years, but she vows not to give into it. Her anger at Lobo for everything he's done over the years has her feeling too resentful to want the mating at all. Description: Long, sunlit red hair. Facial features are delicate and very feminine.
Kiel - Jackal Breed.
Kita Claire "Kee" Engalls-Raines - Human. Breed sympathizer. First appearance: Primal Kiss. Mated to Creed Raines (Primal Kiss). Daughter of Horace Engalls and Mrs. Engalls (unnamed human female-deceased), sister to an unnamed human female (she disowned her family), niece to Philip Brandenmore (her mother's brother), niece to Cara (her father's sister). Had two male lovers before Creed (unnamed humans), and she'd broken things off with them because she was the monogamous type who wanted real love and a long-term commitment, which neither man could give her. A bit of a rebel, she liked to sneak out of her house for some harmless fun with friends (shopping, club hopping, etc.), and was referred to by others as the 'Engalls Princess', because she'd been born into money and pampered. She'd inherited Phillip Brandenmore's Manhattan apartment after the man's assumed death (Brandenmore was really in Jonas Wyatt's custody in secret). Thanks to Brandenmore tipping her off by accident, Kita was able to uncover a hidden flash drive filled with hundreds of files on Brandenmore's years of research on Breeds and their unique mating issues. This file proved useful in discovering what formula Brandenmore had injected into himself and the baby, Amber Broen-Wyatt. The files also uncovered why Brandenmore was so obsessed with this line of research: because he was trying to find a way to find a way to defeat the cancer that had claimed his sister, in case it ever cropped up in her daughter's DNA. These files were sent encrypted via epad to Jonas Wyatt by Kita and Creed.
Klah Hunter - Unknown Breed (not revealed his type in canon yet). Wrongly believed by many to be the Bengal, Judd Cross, because his appearance in Window Rock (nine years before the events in Stygian's Honor) timed well with Judd's disappearance in the area. He survived doing odd jobs, but never stayed long at any of them. He never made friends outside of the Jacobs brothers, "Liza Johnson" (really Honor Roberts), Isabelle Martinez Claire Martinez, Chelsea Martinez, and Cullen Maverick. His house was broken into by an unknown stranger the week the Breeds from the Bureau had convened on Window Rock, and he'd refused to call it in until he'd checked everything out himself.
Lance Jacobs - Human. First appearance: Megan's Mark. Mate of Harmony Lancaster (Harmony's Way). Father of Joseph Leopold Jacobs. Cousin and best friend of Megan Fields-Arness. Sheriff of Broken Butte, New Mexico (lives in town). Previously lived in Chicago, Illinois. Description: Blue eyes.
Lauren Holden-Maverick - Human. First mentioned: Wake A Sleeping Tiger. Daughter of Arthur Holden (deceased) and Marsha Holden. Third cousin of Terran Martinez. Fourth cousin of Chelsea Martinez. Fourth cousin of Isabelle Martinez-Morgan. Former wife of Judd Cross (alias Cullen Maverick). Her father had come from a well-to-do family in California, and he was an attorney himself, so Lauren had been raised with money on an estate. When her family went bankrupt when she was still living in their house, they all moved into her maternal grandfather's home in Window Rock, Arizona until they could get back up on their feet, financially. Still, Lauren had always acted as if she was better than her family deserved, and it was for this reason that Chelsea Martinez and she were never close to begin with. She took a job as assistant to Raymond Martinez when he became President of the Navajo Nation, and a year later, she met Judd Cross, who was calling himself Cullen Maverick by then. "Cullen" took a job with the Navajo Covert Law Enforcement Agency, which reported to Raymond. Around this time, Lauren was diagnosed with a rare, terminal form of cancer as well (it created tumors in her brain). Having heard rumors about Mating Heat curing disease and extending life, she tricked Judd/Cullen into marrying her, believing he would mate her and save her life. Judd/Cullen had really loved her, despite the fact he knew that during their marriage she had been unfaithful to him. He'd never strayed, despite the pull he felt towards Chelsea Martinez (their friendship was innocent, but Lauren was insanely jealous of it). Laura's illness quickly progressed despite all her scheming and blame (she would accuse Cullen of not loving her enough, and that was why she was dying), as there was no Mating Heat between her and Judd/Cullen. Just before their second anniversary, she finally succumbed to the disease. Later, in Wake A Sleeping Tiger, Graeme Parker makes the comment to Cullen Maverick that he'd believed Lauren to have some small psychic ability, and that she'd always known Chelsea Martinez was Cullen's real mate. DECEASED. Description: She was a very narcissistic, selfish woman who expected a certain high standard of living. She was also clever and ambitious, unkind, and the unfaithful type. In the end, when she was dying of cancer, she'd become bitter and waspish.
Lawe Justice - Lion Breed. First appearance: Megan's Mark. Mate of Diane Broen-Justice (Lawe’s Justice). Son of Morningstar Martinez and an unknown Lion Breed (her eggs had been harvested from her body and artificially inseminated with many different Breed types in a lab controlled by the Genetics Council, because she had successfully mated a Coyote Breed, and Lawe and his brother were the result of her ova being combined with a Lion Breed). Elder twin brother of Rule Breaker. Great-grandson of Orrin Martinez. Nephew of Terran Martinez. Nephew of Joseph Martinez. Nephew of Raymond Martinez. Cousin of Claire Martinez (deceased). Cousin of Chelsea Martinez. Cousin of Lincoln Martinez. Cousin of Megan Fields-Arness. Former high-level Enforcer at the Bureau of Breed Affairs. Was offered the position as Assistant Director under Jonas Wyatt, but he declined it appointment. Eventually, accepted the position as the Operations Commander of the Western Division of the Bureau of Breed Affairs, working under his twin brother, Rule Breaker.
Lee - Bengal Tiger Breed. DECEASED.
Lenny Blanchard - Human. First appearance: Megan's Mark. Satellite stats officer for the Broken Butte, New Mexico Sheriff's Office. One of two suspected by Jonas Wyatt as setting up Megan Fields-Arness for assassination by the Genetics Council.
Leo Vanderdale - Lion Breed. The first Leo. Father of Dane Vanderale, Callan Lyons, and Jonas Wyatt. Mate of Elizabeth Vanderale.
Lincoln Martinez (a.k.a. Linc) - Human. Grandson of Orrin Martinez. Son of Raymond Martinez (deceased). Son of Maria Martinez. Brother of Claire Martinez (deceased). Nephew of Terran Martinez. Nephew of Joseph Martinez. Nephew of Morningstar Martinez (deceased). Cousin of Isabelle Martinez-Morgan. Cousin of Chelsea Martinez-Maverick. Cousin of Megan Fields-Arness. Cousin of an unnamed female daughter of Morningstar Martinez (believed deceased). Cousin of Lawe Justice. Cousin of Rule Breaker. Former member of the United States Special Forces. Works on the Navajo Breed Underground in secret. When Chelsea was a teenager, whenever he was home on leave, he would train with her in firearms and self-defense.
Liza Johnson - Human. Daughter of Audi Johnson. Daughter of Cousin of Claire Martinez (deceased). Died in a tragic car accident with her cousin and best friend, Claire Martinez, in Window Rock, Arizona ten years before the events of Stygian's Honor (which coincided with the arrival of Honor Christine Roberts into Window Rock, who was running from the Genetics Council and asked the Navajo Nation to hide her through their underground railroad). Using an ancient Navajo religious ceremony, Liza's soul was successfully transferred into Honor Christine Roberts' body (a spirit possession). Both souls reside within Honor's body, and Liza's soul's will has intentionally repressed Honor's memories of her life before then, convincing Honor that she was Liza instead. Liza's dead body was then buried with a headstone that claimed she was Honor Christine Roberts to protect Honor from the Genetics Council. See entry for Honor Christine Roberts-Black. BODY DECEASED, BUT SOUL IS STILL ALIVE INSIDE ANOTHER.
Lizette Cerves (a.k.a. Lily) - Breed (species unknown). First appearance: Wake A Sleeping Tiger. Girl who the Genetics Council abducted just before they were to pick up a kidnapped Chelsea Martinez-Maverick from Arthur Holder and Theodore Ranger. She is 5-6 years old, is bound hand and foot, naked, too thin (as if she'd been starved). She was found next to an unconscious Mackenzie "Kenzie" Deacon inside the heli-jet after the fighting to regain Chelsea was done and the Council had lost the fight. Samara Cerves, Juan Cerves, and Esteban Cerves found her, and Samara decided this girl would take the place of her dead daughter, Louisa Cerves, since the Council had killed Louisa weeks earlier. Samara had Estaban (who had reservations of stealing the girl up) swear to secret the girl away and tell no one, and Juan agreed with his wife. When she awakens from unconsciousness, it's to Samara talking to her. The girl doesn't remember who she is or anything about her past, so Samara makes up the name "Lily" for her, and tells the girl she's her mother. When Lily goes back to sleep, Graeme Parker appears in the room and tells Samara to get out of the cartel business and hide the girl well from the Council, because she's "special". Samara agrees to bring her to the Breeds, and to get "Uncle" Graeme's help in raising Lily. Graeme thinks to himself that little Lily's so special, in fact, that he'll have to start a new journal just for her (indicating she's something he's never seen before). Description: Had long-tangled black hair. Brilliant green eyes. A cherubic face.
Lobo Reever - Wolf Breed (Alpha). Bought several estates in the Window Rock, Arizona area. Friends with Gideon Cross (alias Graeme Parker, G). Set-up Gideon to pretend to be managing his properties in the Navajo Nation area as a cover for him (even referred to Gideon as a Lion Breed to throw off the scent), to protect him from being found out by Jonas Wyatt and the Bureau of Breed Affairs. His unclaimed mate is Khileen Langer-Gallagher.
Loki - Coyote Breed. Member of Ghost Team. Called 'the flirt' of the group.
Louisa Cerves - Human. First appearance: Wake A Sleeping Tiger. Daughter of Juan and Samara Cerves. Her tutor, with her since she was a baby, had been responsible for turning Louisa over to the Genetics Council when she was just eight-years-old. The tutor had kidnapped her right out of the Cerveses compound and turned her over to a group of Coyote Breeds. Louisa's guards tortured and tormented her before she could get to the labs, biting her and slicing her up. Louisa somehow managed to escape, however, and with Coyote Breeds hot on her tail, she ran for it through the desert, trying to get back home. She was saved purely by coincidence by Chelsea Martinez-Maverick, who had picked up the transmissions of a missing girl nearby. In a daring and dangerous rescue, alone and with no backup coming, Chelsea managed to snag the little girl and throw her into her Dragoon before the Coyote Breeds could catch her. Chelsea then strapped Louisa in and took off for the Cerveses' compound. Crashing through their gate, she came to a halt inside the compound while flashing a Breed Underground secret light mounted on her Dragoon to alert the Cerveses who was coming in. Chelsea passed Louisa off into her mother's arms and then she strangely disappeared. Louisa never saw her again. According to a note Chelsea Martinez-Maverick received three days late from her cousin, Linc, who is also in the Breed Underground, Louisa died from her injuries. DECEASED.
Lowen - Jackal Breed.
Lyra Mason-Jordan - Human.
Macken "Mac" Cooley – Human. First appearance: Megan's Mark. United States Senator. One of the strongest opponents of Breed Law. A rapist and murderer, determined to move up the ranks of the Genetics Council. Meets with Jonas Wyatt in an official capacity to discuss the National Breed Registry in the Bureau of Breed Affairs' Washington D.C. office.
Mackenzie Elizabeth Deacon (a.k.a. Kenzie) - Coyote Breed. First appearance: Wake A Sleeping Tiger. Biological daughter of Elizabeth Colder-Sinclair and her first husband. Biological twin sister of Cassandra "Cassie" Colder-Sinclair. Half-sister of Kenton Sinclair. Mackenzie was a 'test tube baby' - one of Elizabeth Colder's eggs was removed from her body and in the lab, it was fertilized with an unnamed Coyote Breed's sperm. Sometime between the zygote and blastocyst stage, the proembryo split into multiple embryos (identical twins). In that stage, Council scientists then added Wolf Breed's genetics to one of the embryos, while the other was left alone. The embryo with the Coyote and Wolf genetics was then re-implanted into Elizabeth Colder's body, and she gave birth to it naturally, naming the child Cassandra Colder. The other embryo, with only the Coyote genetics, was presumably implanted into a different female for maturation and birth, and was named Mackenzie "Kenzie" Deacon. Kenzie was raised in hiding by an unnamed man and an unnamed woman (her adoptive parents) off-the-grid in the Cascade Mountains. Just before the events in Wake A Sleeping Tiger, Mackenzie's parents were both murdered by mercenaries (gunned down), and she was kidnapped (this was only days before Chelsea Martinez was kidnapped by Arthur Holden and Theodore Ranger in Window Rock, Arizona). Kenzie was then taken from her home and forced to wear a wig to impersonate Cassandra "Cassie" Colder-Sinclair, her twin sister (presumably, so Holden and Ranger could collect a bounty on Cassie's capture from the Council). They drug her and leave her unattended in a helicopter with only another kidnapped little girl for company when they land to pick-up Arthur Holden and Theodore Ranger. When Holden and Ranger are both killed, Cullen Maverick and Gideon Parker discover Mackenzie unconscious in the back of the helicopter and rescue her. Description: Stands 5' 4". Short, dark hair. She is physically Cassandra "Cassie" Colder-Sinclair's twin, so her facial features and body are the exact replica of Cassie's.
Malcolm (a.k.a. John Malcolm) - Human. First appearance: Lawe's Justice. Member of Diane Broen-Justice's team. Betrayed her to the Genetics Council. Diane killed him in a one-on-one combat in New Mexico on a jogging trail near the Navajo Suites (Lawe's Justice). DECEASED.
Marcy Truing - Coyote Breed.

Aunt of Chelsea Martinez-Black (by marriage). Aunt of Isabelle Martinez-Morgan (by marriage). Aunt of Lawe Justice (by marriage). Aunt of Rule Breaker (by marriage). Aunt of an unnamed female daughter of Morningstar Martinez by marriage (believed deceased). Lives on the Navajo Nation reservation in Window Rock, Arizona.
Maria Morales - Human. Doctor. DECEASED.
Mark - Lion Breed. First mentioned: Megan's Mark. Mate of Aimee (deceased). Father of unborn Breed fetus (deceased). He was 24 years old at the time of his death (Megan's Mark). He and his mate left Sanctuary while Aimee was pregnant for a reason no one could discern. They were chased by Genetics Council soldiers and run off the road. He and Aimee both died after their Range Rover crashed, as a result of dozens of bullets from Council soldiers tearing through them and the car. Their faces and bodies were so badly disfigured as a result of their attack that they were unrecognizable; only DNA confirmed their identities. He hadn't been out of captivity (out of the Council labs) long by the time of his death. DECEASED.
Mark English - Human. Mate of Alaiya Jennings (they were not married, however, nor did they openly acknowledge their relationship, as it was not one of love, but of inconvenience to them both). Council loyalist and Breed trailer. Helped Alaiya assassinate Breeds for the Council. Was killed at the same time as Alaiya by Noble Chavin (Christmas Heat). DECEASED.
Marsha Holden - Human. First appearance: Wake A Sleeping Tiger. Wife of Arthur Holden (deceased). Father of Lauren Holden-Maverick (deceased). Former mother-in-law of Cullen Maverick. Second cousin of Terran Martinez. Third cousin of Isabelle Martinez-Morgan. Third cousin of Chelsea Martinez. Lives in California with her husband on an estate. Had moved to Window Rock, Arizona when her daughter Lauren was still living with them, because they'd gone bankrupt and moved in with her father until they could get back up on their feet, financially. Description: hazel eyes, did not physically resemble her father's Navajo heritage, and instead had more of her mother's "Boston blueblood" stock, had been very upbeat and animated before the death of her daughter, Lauren.
Martin - Coyote Breed.
Marv Rhinard - Human. First mentioned: Bengal's Heart. Cassa Hawkins-St. Laurents' boss.
Marx Whitman - Coyote Breed. Traitor.
Mary Katherine O'Sullivan-Black (a.k.a. Katie) - Half-human, Half-Wolf (Recessed). First appearance: Enthralled anthology - The Devil's Due. Mate of Devril "Devil" Black (Enthralled anthology - The Devil's Due). Adopted daughter of Barrett O'Sullivan, biological daughter of Kella O'Sullivan and an unnamed male Wolf Breed. Barrett and Kella O'Sullivan went into an unnamed clinic for an IVF treatment; he donated his sperm and her ova to the cause, hoping for a miracle pregnancy to take, as Kella was having problems getting pregnant normally. The IVF did take, but the sperm used to impregnate Kella's ova wasn't Barrett's - it was an unnamed male Wolf Breed's sperm that was swapped out by the clinic workers in secret (they were working with the Genetics Council, using the IVF clinic as a cover for trying to find human female mates for male Breeds in their labs). For years, Barrett and Kella had no idea their daughter was not Barrett's biological child. Then, Katie was taken by the Genetics Council when she was nine-years-old, and with Jorn Langer's help (Bar's best friend from childhood, and a friend of Callan Lyons), Barrett discovered the truth: Katie's father had been a recessed Wolf Breed. He and Jorn rescued Katie from the labs where she'd been snatched and taken to, but Jorn was fatally wounded in the escape attempt and died (he didn't actually die, but both Bar and Katie believed him to have died that day). To keep the secret of Katie's genetics from the world, Barrett let everyone believe Katie was the daughter of one of Kella's cousins, and that he and Kella had adopted her. Katie grew up believing that lie, too, as a drug given to her while in the labs caused her a total amnesia of her life before the rescue (given to her by one of the lab's nurses to prevent Katie from identifying anyone working in the labs). At sixteen, she underwent the yearly blood testing required by European law at the Breed Protection Network’s training center in Ireland for all adopted children, and the tests came back conclusively that she was not a Breed, but a normal human. At the time, Devril Black had been watching her and was intrigued by her, but was shocked to find out the result of her tests, as every instinct he had said she was part-Breed. At twenty-three years old, Katie was outed at long last after her genetics finally 'kicked in' (an event called 'genetic flaming', for the unexpected flare up of Breed genes for reasons unknown) and she failed a blood test. She became an instant tabloid mark. Within hours the paparazzi began hounding her. Forty-eight hours after that, she was visited by Dylan Killato, Cassandra Colder-Sinclair, Jonas Wyatt, Callan Lyons, Wolf Gunnar, and Dash Sinclair, all of whom attempted to talk her into helping their cause to discover how she'd managed to fool the blood testing for so long and to discuss her recessed genes. During that meeting, unknown assailants fired upon the house where Katie and the others had met, and she and her family were hustled out by American Breed soldiers to safety. One of those soldiers, the one protecting Katie, was Devril Black. The moment she heard his voice, Katie felt the effects of Mating Heat grab hold of her and ride her hard. When she got a good look at his face, though, she recognized him for who he was and thought she'd been betrayed by everyone. She'd believed Devril was there to kill her in secret.
Mary Rodriguez - Lion Breed. DECEASED.
Matthias Slaughter - Wolf breed. Mate of Grace Anderson-Slaughter (Beyond the Dark anthology - In a Wolf’s Embrace). Adopted father of an abandoned baby (unnamed). Trained assassin. Becomes Head of security for the Dubbree Hotel in New York City. .
McCullum - Panther Breed. Panther Pride Leader.
Megan Fields-Arness (a.k.a. Meg) - Human. First appearance: Megan's Mark. Mated to Braden Arness (Megan's Mark). Daughter of David Fields and Mrs. Martinez-Fields. Granddaughter of Joseph Martinez. Cousin of Isabelle Martinez-Morgan. Cousin of Chelsea Martinez-Maverick. Cousin of Claire Martinez (deceased). Cousin of Lincoln Martinez. Second cousin of an unnamed female daughter of Morningstar Martinez (believed deceased). Second cousin of Lawe Justice. Second cousin of Rule Breaker. Lives in Broken Butte, New Mexico. Megan always dreamed of helping people, especially Breeds, once she'd learned of them. She joined the Law Enforcement Academy with the intention of becoming an agent and working to better to lives of Breeds. However, after five years into the training, a hostage situation tested her mental shields that kept her Empathic psychic ability in check. Unable to concentrate because of the bombardment of emotion during the scenario, she faltered and a fellow officer was wounded. After that failure, Megan admitted to herself that she was unable to continue working around others, and quit the Academy before graduation. She returned to Broken Butte, Arizona to the only home she'd known, a broken woman. Her cousin, Lance Jacobs offered her a position within the Broken Butte Sheriff's department, where he was Sheriff, and she accepted it. When Braden Arness came into town, tracking a missing Breed couple, he accidentally runs into Megan. The two begin a tumultuous affair as Mating Heat captures them both. They mate and fall in love. Through Braden, Megan is able to be around people for longer periods of time. He exudes a natural calm that can 'encase' her and strengthen her mental barriers against psychic invasion. She joins the Western Division of the Bureau of Breed Affairs, once it opens up, and is able to pursue her life-long dream of helping Breeds and serving the cause of justice, with Braden at her side. Description: Dark, midnight blue eyes. Thick, dark hair that is long. Loves action and adventure (something of an adrenaline junkie and a warrior combined). Through her Navajo lineage, she has the psychic ability of Empathy (picking up emotions from things and the environment around her), as well as flashes of post-cognition (being able to see events that happened in a location in the recent past, especially if they were events that created high emotional responses from the people there at the time). She also has built up strong mental shields to block out strong emotions, if she wants to.
Mercury Warrant - Lion Breed (Recessed Primal). First appearance: The Man Within. Mate of Gloria “Ria” Rodriguez-Warrant (Mercury’s War). Enforcer - rank of Second Commander. When Mercury was a child in the labs, he was the dominant male Lion Breed. As such, he felt it his duty to protect the others in his small Pride, include Alaiya Jennings, whom he had begun to form an attachment to (he did not mate her, not even touch her, but he was attracted to her as the most dominant female Lion in the group). When Mercury believed Alaiya had been killed by the scientists, he went into a form of Feline Feral Distemper. The scientists quarantined him in a small cage and began taking invasive and painful samples from him, including saliva, semen, and blood samples. They concocted a series of drugs to control Mercury's crazed rages, causing the animal within him to go to sleep and making him docile. When Mercury escaped the labs, he was one of the first to answer Callan Lyons' call to come out of hiding and to help the Breeds build a new life together. He took on the role of security detail at Callan's mountain encampment, eventually becoming a trusted and competent member of Kane Tyler's security detail. Once Sanctuary came on-line, he took a cabin on the compound for his own, preferring to live there than inside the main building. When Gloria "Ria" Rodriguez appeared at Sanctuary, almost a decade later, Mercury's inner animal began to wake up, realizing it had found its mate. The animal, however, also knew that Mercury wasn't ready for a mate, and that its mate was hiding her true self as well, and so it worked behind the scenes, from Mercury's subconscious, to act to slowly bind Ria to him. Eventually, the lust between Mercury and Ria went nuclear, and they enjoyed a lot of explosive sexual experiences together. Despite this, Mercury was puzzled that there was no mating hormone being secreted from his tongue. He felt sure Ria was his mate, and he'd fallen in love with her (and her with him), and yet his body wasn't acting like it was in mating heat, except for the consuming lust. Believing Mercury's true mate had been Alaiya Jennings, Ris is heartbroken and attempts to end things between her and Mercury. Mercury, however, will not allow that to happen. When Alaiya shows up unexpectedly at Sanctuary, stating she has been for months a spy for Jonas Wyatt and that she is in mating heat, she claims Mercury as her mate. Ria is devastated and runs away. Mercury's inner primal Lion, however, has finally decided to wake up and it knows Ria is its mate. Chasing after Ria, Mercury rather pointedly stakes his claim upon Ria again by taking her to bed and referring to her as his mate. Ria still does not believe his claim, though, so Mercury and his animal decide it's time to wake up the animal within her that has been lying dormant for years as well. They provoke Ria in a variety of ways, forcing her animal to the surface. The truth comes out, eventually, that Ria is a Hybrid Lion and somehow obliquely related to the Vanderdale-Wyatt-Lyons family (the exact connection is unknown, but the relational scent is clear to everyone once Ria's animal comes forth). Ria's animal is willing to fight for Mercury, and so it begins influencing her similarly to how Mercury's animal influenced him. Over a short period of time, Ria shucks the cool, professional mask she's worn for years and takes on the sensual, feisty animalistic side of her nature. She claims Mercury as her mate before a group of others, and physically fights (and defeats) Alaiya. She then makes it known to everyone that she has scented the other woman's intentional deception (Alaiya had been mated by someone, but it wasn't Mercury and Alaiya knew that when she arrived on scene, claiming otherwise. Later, it comes out that she was attempting to destroy Mercury for the Genetics Council, whom she was still working with on the sly). The issue resolved, Mercury's mating hunger is fully realized...and his animal has found its mate, and he is finally at peace with himself.

Daughter of Orrin Martinez. Sister of Raymond Martinez (deceased). Sister of Terran Martinez. Sister of Joseph Martinez. Aunt of Claire Martinez (deceased). Aunt of Chelsea Martinez-Maverick. Aunt of Lincoln Martinez. Aunt of Isabelle Martinez-Morgan. Cousin of an unnamed person who works for the Navajo Nation's Health Department. Was turned over to the Genetics Council by her brother, Raymond Martinez, when she was only sixteen years old (Ray was working secretly with the them for reasons unknown). While in the labs, she met a Coyote guard, named Elder, who mated her. The scientists were fascinated by her ability to successfully conceive with the Coyote Breed, and began extracting her eggs and artificially tampering with them in the lab with other types of Breed DNA. The successfully inseminated eggs would then be reinserted into Morningstar to see if she could bring them to birth. She did so on a number of occasions (exact number unknown), including with the twin Lion Breeds, Lawe Justice and Rule Breaker. Eventually, when she proved to be of no more use to the scientists, they dissected her while alive and let her die slowly studying the effects of their fatal experiments upon her organs and senses until her corpse was cold. DECEASED.
Mrs. Martinez-Fields - Human. First mentioned: Megan's Mark. Wife of David Fields. Daughter of Joseph Martinez (I). Mother of Megan Fields-Arness. Lives in Broken Butte, New Mexico.
Mutt- Coyote Breed. Lieutenant under Cainis Ryder (a.k.a. Cain, Dog) on Ghost Team. Works with Jonas Wyatt on occasion to pretend to be a Council-loyal Coyote to win over traitors, so he can eventually bring them to justice. Was said to be the most quiet, calm, and watchful of Ghost Team, and therefore one of the most dangerous, according to Dog.

Orrin Martinez - Human. Member of the Window Rock Navajo tribe and a spiritual adviser to the Navajo Nation Council. He is a Wind Listener, a type of psychic that picks up on whispers carried by the winds across the land. This bizarre talent has allowed him to know things about his grandchildren (not his own children, though, strangely enough) before they can tell him.
Patricia James - Human. First appearance: Bengal's Heart. Second wife of Myron James. Mother of his children (exact genders and names unknown, but there are more than one). She was in love with Myron when they married, but his inability to love her back the way she needed (because he'd been mated to a Breed, and that love had been a once-in-a-lifetime thing) has diminished her love for Myron. Now, she is known merely by her nagging and screeching at Myron.
Patrick "Rick" Wallace (a.k.a. Azrael, Death) - Lion Breed (Primal). First appearance: Bengal's Heart. Mated to Serena Wallace. Father to an unnamed son (the baby was stolen by Douglas Watts minutes after its birth, and sold to the Genetics Council). His genetics were rumored to have come from "a descendant of an ancient, bloody pharaoh". Every DNA sequence had been precise. He had been a prize among the Council and a legend among the Breeds; it was said of him that "there was no Breed bloodier, or more merciless" than Azrael. Thirty years before Bengal's Heart main story, he escaped the lab in Libya where he'd been born and held all his life. Everyone thought he had died that day, believing him to have been a victim to an out of control rampage due to feral fever that not only took out six other Breeds and an entire lab of soldiers and scientists, but had ended in his own demise. However, Patrick did not die, nor did the six Breeds with him. They all escaped and made their way to the United States and freedom. In the U.S.A., Patrick met and mated Serena Wallace and formed a Pride of Lion and Jaguar Breeds in the mountains near Glen Ferris, West Virginia. Escaped at the end of Bengal's Heart and remains at large.
Petrov Kobrin - Human.
Phillip Brandenmore - Human. Brother of Kita Claire Engalls-Raines' unnamed mother (deceased), uncle of Kita Claire Engalls-Raines, brother-in-law of Horace Engalls. Head of Brandenmore Pharmaceutical Research. Member of the Deadly Dozen. As the elder child, he raised his sister. and when she got married to Horace Engalls, he stood at Horace's side as Best Man. When Kita was born to them, Brandenmore held her with love, and when Kita's mother became sick with cancer, Phillip went a bit mad trying to find a cure - a secret 'fountain of youth' in the form of an elixir that halted aging, that cured all diseases, that could save his sister from death. Unfortunately, his sister had one of the few incurable cancers that still existed. Remission was possible, but the doctors had warned her family it would never last for long. He’d accepted an offer the Genetics Council had made him that week and begun his research. For massive amounts of money, Brandenmore was given the Breeds to experiment upon (they'd been a long-time project of the secretive Genetics Council, stretching back a hundred or more years, and as the world didn't yet know about them at that time, he'd had the perfect test subjects -- prisoners who could not escape, and who had no legal human rights anyway, as they weren't fully human), and he took up the experimentation being done on mated couples, hoping to find his 'fountain of youth' in the Breed Mating chemistry. In a word, Brandenmore became a monster; he experimented on and murdered countless Breeds over the course of more than 50 years. At some point, he'd learned he had the same cancer, as his sister, and that became another driving motivation in his finding a cure. In Lion's Heat, he kidnapped Amber Broen-Wyatt when she was a baby and injected both her and himself with an experimental drug made from Breed mating hormones. He was hoping to arrest and reverse the aging process in his body (to kill off the cancer that was killing him even then), and to give Jonas Wyatt and the Breeds a reason not to kill him when he was surrounded and captured (he figured the Breeds would need him alive to monitor and study him to create a cure for Amber, as the drug changed her in ways Phillip knew would not be positive for a baby). While being held by the Breeds for crimes against them in a cell in Sanctuary, Brandenmore was closely monitored by Jonas Wyatt. They discovered that while the drug worked to reverse Brandenmore's aging issues, a side-effect was it negatively effected his brain, too, heightening psychotic and paranoid tendencies in him. At some point, he was broken out by three Genetics Council mercenaries, and in Primal Kiss, he tracked down Kita Engalls-Raines at her Tennessee cabin where she was with Creed Raines, in the middle of Mating Heat. Creed noted Brandenmore seemed regretful when he looked at Kita, as if he had plans for her and was almost sorry he'd have to carry them out, and it turned out Creed was right: as a Breed mate, Brandenmore intended on experimenting on his niece, hoping to find ways to tweak the drug within his system so it would work better (and killing her in the process, but he had no remorse about that). In the nick of time, Wyatt, Horace Engalls, and a Bureau team, headed up by Diane Broen, charged to the rescue. Horace shot Brandenmore in the shoulder, incapacitating him (although both Horace and Kita believed Phillip dead, along with his three mercenary guards), and Wyatt took him back into custody. Eventually, Brandenmore was killed by the Breed, Navarro Blaine in Navarro's Promise. DECEASED.

As a member of the Bureau of Breed Affairs, he worked exclusively on missing cases that involved hidden Breed labs and/or missing Breeds or their mates. He'd spent ten years looking for Honor Roberts, at the Bureau's behest. Liza had heard that, "he wasn’t a Breed who worked well with others...and he was one that would just as soon kill a man, or a Breed, who got in his way as he was to look at him. Theodore Ranger (a.k.a. Ranger, Range) - Human. First appearance: Wake A Sleeping Tiger. Second in Command of the Navajo Covert Law Enforcement Agency, working under Cullen Maverick. Twelve+ years before Wake A Sleeping Tiger, he was Lauren Holden's lover, however when he learned that Lauren was going to marry his new friend, Cullen Maverick in an effort to save her from the cancer that was killing her, he stepped back and let the marriage happen. He did not, however, stop being Lauren's lover, as he continued their affair even after the wedding, behind Cullen's back. Cullen knew, though, and allowed the affair to happen, feeling sorry for Ranger and Lauren both, knowing she'd married him not out of love, but out of necessity and desperation. When the Mating Heat didn't happen between Cullen and Lauren, she eventually died of cancer. Ranger blamed Cullen for not saving her life but repressed that resentment and hatred for years. He continued working at the Agency at Cullen's side, eventually becoming his Second in Command. While there, he befriended Cullen's personal assistant and long-time friend, Chelsea Martinez. When Chelsea and Cullen became romantically involved, Ranger's anger finally found a target in Chelsea. He blamed her for his friendship with Cullen disintegrating, but the truth was Ranger already resented and, on some darker level, hated Cullen as a result of their past. When Ranger verbally attacked Chelsea, twisting the facts around and making up stories about Cullen's feelings for her in an attempt to get Chelsea to leave Cullen and Window Rock, Arizona altogether (stating Cullen was still in love with his dead wife, and that he and Lauren used to laugh at Chelsea's puppy-dog-like crush on Cullen years earlier) Cullen decided Ranger had crossed too many lines. He got Ranger fired from the Agency, stating he couldn't trust his Second anymore, and their friendship officially ended. Ranger was furious. He confronted Chelsea in Cullen's house and only then realized that Cullen had gone into Mating Heat with Chelsea. This further enraged him, as it felt to Ranger as if Cullen had intentionally let Lauren died because he'd refused to mate her. Ranger didn't understand that Mating Heat was uncontrollable to the Breed, and that the mate choice was not the Breed's to make. He and Arthur Holden kidnapped Chelsea with the intention of turning her over to the Council to experiment upon in the ultimate revenge, but they were thwarted by Dog (working undercover as a Coyote Council soldier) and one of his team, Cullen, Graeme, Cat, and a team of the Cerveses cartel soldiers. He had his neck broken by Cullen in a one-on-one fight to the death and was dead before he hit the dirt in the canyon (right outside of Window Rock, Arizona city proper)(Wake A Sleeping Tiger). DECEASED.

However, once he found out Anya was pregnant and was a Breed's mate, he thought to sell her to the Council instead. Was killed, along with seven other Advent city council members and the Feline traitor, Douglas, when Jax and a group of enforcer Coyotes found them and rescued Anya from them. DECEASED.
